Scam King Sid Jawahar Gets 11 Years | Montpelier News

A fraudster named Sid Jawahar, who was in the U.S. illegally since 2005, got 11 years for swindling over $25 million from investors—including NFL star Travis Kelce—by using new victims’ money to pay old ones while jetting around and dining fancy. Despite a U.S. Rep. pleading for a lighter sentence, the judge stood firm. Prosecutors revealed Jawahar paid $10K to a consultant to sway the judge via targeted media, which the judge called “ludicrous.” Jawahar hasn’t started repaying victims despite claiming he would, and now faces deportation after his sentence.
