UCF football looks like a completely different team this spring and it starts with an offensive revival that feels very real. The biggest takeaway from practice is how much more dynamic this unit looks, and it begins with playmakers stepping up across the board. Josh Derry is quickly becoming one of the most important pieces of this offense. The production, the confidence, and the way he attacks the football all stand out. This is a receiver who doesn’t just get open, he finishes plays. UCF needed that badly after last season, and Darry looks like he could be that difference maker in the Big 12. At quarterback, Keyone Jenkins is making serious noise as QB2. While Alonzo Barnett is still expected to lead the offense, Jenkins is showing that UCF has real depth behind him. The accuracy, the command, and the confidence he’s displaying in practice are turning heads. These are not just routine reps either. He’s delivering consistently and showing growth that could matter in a big way during the season. Then there’s Duke Watson. Early expectations may not have fully captured what he brings, but based on what’s happening this spring, he looks like a major factor in the running game. There’s real power, vision, and toughness showing up on tape, and it’s starting to feel like he could lead this backfield. Overall, this offense looks deeper, more competitive, and far more capable than what was seen last season. If these trends continue, UCF might not just improve. This team could make real noise in the Big 12.
