Sermon by Pastor Nathan Walter SCATTER Before I begin, I just have to say that I love this series about being Unashamed. I think it is a sobering look at reality, at the state of the church, at the state of Christians, and I think it is causing us to take a good look at ourselves and assess if we are in the battle, if we are even ready for battle, and if we are truly the church as Christ has called us to be. Now when I talk about battles, I know it is easy to get this viewpoint that it is us vs. the world, and I think that is how a majority of people see it. But we have a different enemy and often our biggest battles are not against the world but against our own sin, our own flesh. And often it is easier to fight the world than to battle our own sinful nature. It makes me wonder often, am I fighting for God or against God? I know that no one wants to think for a second that they are fighting with God, but often we are, without even knowing it. This week we will look at the tower of Babel, and the rebellion that took place there to determine if we are truly following the will of God or our own.
