Scheherezade Daftery and Cooking Up Wine!

from The Wine Situation · host Ellen Clifford

Scheherezade Daftery, writer/owner of The Delightful Table blog and cooking school joins Shaughn and Ellen to get into her food and wine situation! But first, the Grape of Thrones is Riesling. Don't turn it down because you "don't like sweet wine". Because a) there are a lot of good sweet wines and b) Riesling is not always sweet! Shaughn and Ellen brought Scheherezade the 2015 Alvaro Palacios Priorat 'Les Terrasses' Laderas de Pizarra in homage to Scheherezade's Spanish heritage! Her heritage is in fact how she got into cooking--how else could she readily get Persian food and Spanish cooking? Getting veggies from a CSA sparked her blog and passion for sustainability! Scheherezade got into wine via a friend from abroad. They taught her how to truly enjoy wine--with a cookie! So of course the crew decides to eat some of Shaughn's bread with the brew. From the feast the conversation gets into everything from Kalimotxo cocktails to Opus One. There is a lot to dig into here!  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
