Schlenhardt Commits to Syracuse

Matthew Schlenhardt, a dynamic defensive back from Park Ridge, Illinois, just committed to Syracuse for the class of 2027—making his decision mere days after an explosive performance at Franchise Camp. Offered by head coach Fran Brown just before his visit, Schlenhardt flipped from other schools including Indianapolis, Grand Valley State, and Minnesota State. Known for his unbreakable spirit and love of physical play, he’ll bring versatility as a safety after playing RB, LB, and safety in high school. His pledge boosts Syracuse’s 2027 class to 18 players and pushes them to No. 43 nationally—though Schlenhardt himself isn’t yet ranked, his impact is already felt.
