Schmidt Retires After Restoring Bonaventure Basketball

Mark Schmidt, St. Bonaventures mens basketball coach, announced his retirement after 19 seasons, transforming the team from a struggling program to a powerhouse. Despite early losses and lack of modern tools, he built a winning culture, achieving key successes like an Atlantic Ten Tournament title and N-C-double-A bid. His teams consistently won 20+ games and reached deep postseason runs. Schmidt, now 63, wants more time with family, leaving behind a restored powerhouse and a legacy of success.
