Schomburg Pt.2! Blerds & Bleeks Speak AGAIN! & Tuskegee Heirs, Sat@6pm!

from Afronerd Radio · host Afronerd Radio

Well, while you hunker down for what we're told is going to be a helluva of winter storm, why not listen to a new episode of Afronerd Radio'sGrindhouse, airing this Saturday at 6pm EST. Due to what turned out to be one of our best comic con experiences, the crew (Dburt, Capt. Kirk and Dburt) decided to take a shot at recreating the Blerds and Bleeks Speak segment of the 4th Annual Black Comic Book Festival held at the Schomburg Center (Harlem, NY) during MLK Day!  So hold on to your hats, when we welcome Ashlee Blackwell (Grvyrd Shift Sisters), Karama Horne (The Blerd Gurl), Maurice Waters (Black Sci-Fi) and Joseph Illidge (Verge Entertainment, The Mission) for a gabfest with topics ranging from comic cons (minority themed and otherwise), the promotion/business of Blerd culture and expectations for geekery circa 2016.  And if that wasn't enough, Messrs. Marcus Williams and Greg Burnham, the creative team behind The Tuskegee Heirs, stop by to discuss this great graphic novel project and the (ongoing) successful Kickstarter campaign that is making this comic series a reality. Call in live at 646-915-9620. I don't believe it-even here-forty thousand kilometers from earth....the first thing I see is a giant alien white man with an attitude-Dr. Adam Brashear/Blue Marvel
