School Failures After Students Return

from Líderes del Futuro · host Rafael Vazquez

Now that students are returning to schools, administrators, teachers,  and support staff haven't been prepared properly on how to address the  emotional damage that isolation from COVID has caused. Students are  depressed, anxious, and fearful of getting sick. Yet, most schools have  not held conversations in classes or in larger meetings about this. Now,  we are beginning to see the consequences with students fighting and  acting out in general. In one school, the principal called the police.  This all could have been avoided by addressing the root problem. In  another school, the principal did not let students share their side of  the story and punished them. Yet, many of these administrators claim to  be advocates of "restorative practices." #covid #togethertowardshealth  #mentalhealth #restorativepractice
