Schools warned over AI image abuse threat

The eSafety Commissioner has issued a warning to Australian schools about posting photos and videos online following a sharp rise in image-based abuse of staff and students. More than 100 reports were received between January and March this year, with anonymous social media accounts using images harvested from school websites and Facebook pages to create AI-generated dance videos, face swaps and fabricated stories about principals and staff.
