Scientist - aka Hopeton Overton Brown - is a recording engineer and producer.  He can take a lovely reggae song and twist it into a whole other science fiction dub universe. His bass textures alone are a thing of wonder - many remixers just turn up the bass but our man Scientist sculpts the sound into something completely new. Here are some of his best dubs (IMHO), in collaboration with the rock-solid Roots Radics band, featuring Errol Flabba Holt on heavyweight bass and Style Scott (RIP) on drums. I recommend the album Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of Vampires as a gateway to his music. If it helps you to find them, the Greensleeves albums have been reissued by VP Records with the name of the producer, Junjo (Lawes) in place of Scientist's. Same music, but the original Greensleeves discs may have better sound quality.
