Scientists Describe Recent European Heatwave As Most Severe Ever Recorded

Scientists have described the recent European heatwave as the most severe ever recorded, with a new study concluding it would have been virtually impossible without human-caused climate change.   The report warns that extreme heat is becoming more frequent and more dangerous, with Irish cities among those experiencing record levels of heat stress.   But for many people, one question remains: can a small country like Ireland really make a meaningful difference?   To discuss the latest findings and what they mean for us here at home, Alan Morrissey was joined by leading climate expert of NUI Maynooth, Professor John Sweeney.
