Scot Goes Popcast Episode 6: Alex Salmond
from Scot Goes Popcast · host James Kelly
Alex Salmond is the leader of the newly-formed Alba Party. He was also leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) between 1990 and 2000, and again between 2004 and 2014. He was First Minister of Scotland between 2007 and 2014, and was effectively leader of the Yes campaign in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum. After the Alba Party launch he spoke to me about his exclusion from the first TV debate, his reasoning for saying that SNP list votes will be wasted in this election, the future of internal democracy in the party, and whether he regrets having ever used the dread words "once in a generation".
