Scott Helmer

Independent touring and recording artist Scott Helmer, who has opened for iconic acts such as Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down, Jeff Bridges and Big Country, is spending a year and a half traveling more than 25,000 miles across America, donating his time and talent by performing concerts to help raise $1 million for good causes.   It’s hard to imagine a person like Helmer would ever put a gun in his mouth to commit suicide, but he did exactly that during his darkest hour in 2008. “Everything I’m doing now goes back to that moment where I was one second away from pulling the trigger.” In the moment before pulling the trigger, he cried out to God for help, vowing to deal with his mistakes and not give up.
