Scott Mubarak, The Pavlik Method and Orthopedic History

In this episode, I speak with Scott Mubarak, MD, Chief Emeritus of Orthopedic Surgery at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego.    We discuss orthopedic history, including his experience visiting the former Czechoslovakia to find out about Arnold Pavlik and the Pavlik method as well as his vast experience with non-operative treatment of hip dysplasia.    We then talk about surgery for hip dysplasia, including ligamentum teres transfer and the so-called San Diego osteotomy that was developed by Dr. Mubarak and his partner Dr. Dennis Wenger.   It is insightful and informative!
