Scott Simpson: ACC Minister on the number of claimed injuries taking place in homes

from Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive · host Newstalk ZB

The ACC Minister says the accidental injury cover scheme's been allowed to drift over the years, but should be retained.  The latest injuries report shows ACC spent $4.4 billion on treatment last year, and $3.1 billion on weekly compensation.  Scott Simpson says running the scheme costs about $8.3 billion dollars annually. "It's been working well for New Zealanders for nigh-on 50 years, my role as minister is to make sure it works for the next 50 years." LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
