Interview at 11 a.m. Friday!Scott, thanks for being on the AIPT Comics podcast, this is your 7th time on the show, always a pleasure____. To start, you’ve got Clear, Night of the Ghoul, and We Have Demons all out this month, what made these 3 the best of the 8 planned titles at Comixology as the first to release? All three works feel incredibly new, fresh, and maybe even a new gear for your work compared to previous years, was there anything you were able to do under comiXology as far as “breaking rules” in comics storytelling you go to do here? What went into the strategy of doing 3 series a month?Something I adore about your writing is your creation stories, you’ve done a few, and We Have Demons has a great one, heck night of the ghoul has an origin that feels mythical, what inspires you to tackle creation myths? We Have Demons is so compelling, in part, because of the way it recontextualizes faith. It actually opens with a warning at the start of the book, was this warning always part of the plan, or did this come in later? Two of these books are penciled and colored by the artist (Manapul and Francavilla), do you find books colored and drawn by 1 artist come out different in any way?Was there a specific movie or director that inspired Night of the Ghoul? You’re doing some amazing work on your Substack with classes too, I recently watched the course talking about Donny Cates’ Venom. Do you find yourself analyzing comics even when you’re reading for pleasure?Favorite scary novel, movie, comic?
