TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, Blade Runner, Total Recall, Belgium, and now, screamers, welcome to Dick Me. Dick Me! Dick Me! Dick Me Today!

Right. Dick Me Tomorrow! Yeah, that's pretty good. Welcome.

Welcome to your Filcade Dick, a compendium. Okay, a comp... I'd say it's a downright compendium, wouldn't you? I would.

I really would. We're running through every adaptation of a PKD property, short story, novella, in this case. Yes. This week is screamers from 1995.

Heard of it. Hey, heard of it. Uh, 95. Yeah.

When I was 13... Was it a very good year? No. Had you gotten your black belt yet?

No, Dan, I never got my black belts. Oh, right! We've talked about this. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I got... Would you ever do like a Billy Madison style? Go back. Finish out your coursework.

Throw a throw an eight-year-old like across a room. Yeah. Just fucking decimate. Take him in the chest through like three walls.

It looks like an anime fight. Yeah. So extreme with the violence. Like with kids on the arms off.

It would look like the... Like a scene from this movie. Hey. Right?

Yeah. I gotta say, that was... I was dying laughing. At the final fight scene?

When the screamers were pouring out of the... When the David models. Oh, yes, yes. It's like 300 little kids and they're all just like, I can't shoot them faster.

Get the nuclear warhead. Yeah, the nuke. We got a new piece of kids. We got a new piece of kids.

Yeah. No, that was... I think a real high point in the movie is when they nuked like 300 kids. 300 kids who, let's be honest, we're not even really doing much.

No. All we ever see them do is make a scary face. But that face is pretty scary. Comes out of nowhere?

It does. It felt like it was watching the... It was like a large, large, large situation. Yeah, almost like a claymation kind of dissolve.

This movie really feels like a sci-fi original. Yeah. Like mid-90s sci-fi channel, where like now if you put on the sci-fi channel, they have whatever bird, dannic octa shark versus octa mom, whatever. And it's all CGI and it's like some de-less celebrity who's like just sort of yelling at nothing and making like big gestures.

This fan pointed at him. Yeah. Like, terra read I think is in like seven Sharknado movies now. Yeah.

He's probably got a mortgage to pay. Hey. I don't blame her, you know. I mean, get that Sharknado bag, man.

This is one of those where like every line from our main character here has to be equipped. Oh, yeah. And you know, diminishing results, obviously, because it's like at a certain point, I like when he's just like, you must be confusing me with someone who gives a shit. Oh my God.

What if in that moment, you just had him do some active listening? Yeah. You just to have one moment where he's like, huh, that's crazy. Cool story, Jefferson.

Is Peter Weller a bad actor? I feel like he's maybe the best actor in this movie, right? And he was good in Robocop, but he's under, you know, I mean, he's a robot. He's playing a Robocop.

Yeah. His name is Robocop. His name is Robocop, right? Peter Weller understood the assignment.

Yes, yes, he did. You saw those. Well, I didn't watch the documentary, but did you see the clips of people talking from that Robocop documentary that came out like last year or early this year? The Oreo story?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where he's like, Robocop wants an Oreo. And the guy's like, I'm not fucking giving you an Oreo until you're talking to me like a normal person. And he's like, Robocop wants an Oreo.

I got my respect for that. He might be a bad actor though. This is like, I mean, granted, it's an insane screen. Like it's a really poorly written thing.

The story doesn't make any sense. Like the forced romantic arc. That's crazy. Bonkers.

Yeah, it really is. Yeah. Is Peter, like what else is he? Bucker-Bonsai.

Peter Weller. Again though, it's like, that's such a specific thing that it's like, can you, I mean, maybe he's just a guy who understands the assignment. I hate to say it again, but he's, you know, Bucker-Bonsai is silly. What about when he was in Naked Lunch?

I've not seen it. The David Cronenberg movie based on the William S. Burroughs book. Have you seen it?

I have seen it. Would you say he understood the assignment? You know what, Dan, I think he did understand the assignment. He knew what he was doing.

He knew what the movie was. Have you ever read Naked Lunch? I've had Naked Lunch. But I've not read Naked Lunch.

I've eaten lunch off of a, you know, Naked Woman, one of the sushi. Yeah, one of those business man sushi did. Yeah, from the 90s. There was probably like a meeting to sell this script had over a naked woman with sushi on her.

Yeah. And that's, I mean, right, that's what you want your food to be touching, right? Another naked human being. Like banana leaves on, on, yeah.

Oh, so it's okay? Yeah, all right. That would be funny is like, if that became like a, like a female empowerment thing in the way that like women, like liberal women do like pole dancing. Yes.

And they're like, I'm helping. This is my fight song. Yeah. And they're just like, no, I will be a tray of food.

Yeah. Yeah. They're like, I'm taking a sushi making and being under class. I'm taking a, I'm taking a furniture being class.

Yeah, I'm taking a class on being a big dish. What? What are you talking about? Hey, can you just use your off of me, right?

Um, listen, listen enough enough about all that. That's disgusting. But I can don't eating sushi off of naked women, unless everybody involved is a very important businessman and they have a lot of money to. Yeah.

Unless I stand to personally gain something from it. I would never do that. I would never do that unless right. I was making some sort of huge business deal.

I don't, then how can I say no? I couldn't say no. Damn, I can't say no to that. Look, if for example, they were flying in from Berlin or Kyoto, you know, if, uh, right, and I wanted to impress them, I have to impress these, these businessmen.

They're coming in. See, you know, would be, here's a good idea for like a 90s sitcom, right? I think you're, you're doing the big business meeting. Yeah.

The sushi, the human sushi platter gets like the flu or something. He has to convince his wife to be the human sushi platter. But maybe she's like a, she's like an old battle axe. Oh, she's got an old battle axe.

Wouldn't that be funny? Yeah. And then like, while, while the guy is doing business, she's like, maybe berating him a little bit. Yeah.

Or it's like every time someone goes to get a piece, she like coughs or something. Where like, skulls scooch away. Yeah. It's like, kind of flying.

It's kind of moves away from them. It's like a little bit though. Like just like an intro to it. Just like, don't touch me.

Oh, you got to know. She grabs a piece and eats it. Oh, you got to know. You got to know.

Yeah. She's just eating mostly. Because she's a battle axe, right? She doesn't care about business.

No, she doesn't know anything. She just cares about busting her husband's balls. I'm going to bust his balls. Yeah.

A great line from Total Recall. Written by Dan O'Bill. Oh, there we go. I'm not going to blow past that.

Let's let's let's ride that way. Yeah. Let's make like a tech tech bro douchebag and ride this segment. All right.

Yes. So do we call written by Phil K. Dick and Dan O'Danan. Ban O'Danan.

And wouldn't you know it? Screamers. Written by Dan. Banana.

Dan O'Danan. That's right. Old banana Dan. Back at it.

Not his finest work. We were talking about this one of the last things he got made. Yes. He got made.

Yep. He shares a writing credit with Miguel Tejada Flores. Yes. I'm going to blame him.

Miguel also wrote Revenge of the Nerds. And The Lion King? He that's I want to what man that because I was looking at that. I was like what the fuck.

You're telling me this guy came up with the idea for Nala. Let's see. He has an additional writing credit. They're like 50 people with the same credit as him.

Yeah, there is. Wow. It's broken up by the three screen play writers. Then it looks like maybe 15 story by credits.

And then another 8 or 10 additional story material credits. Yeah. Crazy. Same goes for Revenge of the Nerds.

Actually, the screenplay credit goes to two guys who are not Miguel Tejada Flores. There are four people with story by credits, which is insane to me. That like, four people get credit with the idea for what if the nerds got revenge. And what if one of them got revenge in the darkest way possible?

Yep. I don't want to talk about it. I'm not going to go into that. Yeah.

The last set about it the better. Yeah. So Dan O'Bannon loved Dan O'Bannon. Guy, you know, he's responsible for some of the greatest movies ever, including Alien, Return of the Warfs.

That's great stuff. Directed by Christian Dugay. Dugay? I don't know.

Christian here. What else has he done? Not anything that is jumping out at me. Looks like that Wesley Snipes movie, The Art of War from 2000, which nobody knows about.

Scamby Part 2 and 3. That's right. So he went from Scanners to Screamers. That's fun for him.

That's right. Is there a Screamers sequel? There is. It's on list.

It's still screaming. Yeah. We're going to be talking about that in a couple of weeks. Oh, good.

Yeah. This movie is pretty boring. And I want to play the sort of opening chiron. It's like a minute and a half long, but it's like a full sort of setup of everything that's going on.

And it's all gobbledygook nonsense. It is. And it only gets less clear as the movie goes on. Yeah.

Yes. All right. All right. Let's get the triumph films.

How long is this clip exactly? I don't know. All right. I was going to tell people how many times to press the second- Fast forward button.

All right. The year is 27. It's 78. Okay.

And here's a go on Sirius 6B. The N.E.B. discovered the solution to the world's energy crisis. Brilliant.

Brilliant. It is learned that mining, uranium, unleash lethal doses of radiation and pollution. The Alliance, a Federation of Mine workers and scientists, demanded the immediate end of mining operations. The N.E.B.'s response was to declare all out war.

All out war. The conflict between the Alliance and the N.E.B. has fueled a new Cold War on Earth. And so far, the fighting has been confined to Sirius 6B.

Massive N.E.B. nuclear bombing raids have decimated the civilian population and devastated this once beautiful planet. Thousands more have been killed by clouds of deadly beryllium radiation. Now, in the 10th year of the war, the survivors on Sirius 6B are faced with a new threat beyond imagination.

Okay. So, all on a distant mining planet, this corporation, they're mining for this beryllium. It releases this radiation. The miners and the scientists, they team up, they form the Alliance.

And then, like the way they describe the planet is like, was the N.E.B. corporation has completely bombed it. And wiped out any sort of civilization there. But when we meet our main characters here, I don't know, Peter Weller is part of the Alliance.

And then, often another bunker somewhere, are the N.E.B. soldiers. Which, okay, so off the bat, the Alliance is just like a militant union? That's what it sounds like, yes.

Which is kind of cool. Yeah, I think it's wild that they have access to all the same resources, seemingly as the other guys, right? Because the Alliance made the screamers. Yes.

Which is wild. So, let's talk about them for a second. The screamers are, let's see, five years into the war, Alliance scientists created and deployed an autonomous... Autonomous?

Yeah, AMS, artificially intelligent, self-replating machines that hunt down and kill N.E.B. soldiers. Nicknamed screamers because... They're in terrible sound.

Zipping around, they make a terrible screaming sound, right? They make a terrible screaming sound, and also it's a cool little like body snatchers nod when it comes out of a person's mouth eventually. Yes. But also, the Alliance have to wear these tabs, they're called, they're like, bracelets, like that kind of...

I liked this. I liked it too. This seems like such a filuké dick sort of idea. That the...

So the screamers are attracted to heartbeats. And what this does is, it mutes your heartbeat. Yeah, it produces like an inverse wave of your heartbeat, and it basically cancels it out. Yes, which is...

Which is... Screamers can hear you. Yeah, that's fun. That's a fun...

It's fun. It's like... Yeah. But it is very round about wave, like, try.

You can't get me. Right. Yeah, I just like, you know, it's such an inherently evil idea, like these things that just like... Like it seems like something that a bad guy comes up with.

Oh, the screamers. Yeah. Yeah. Incidentally, the workers and scientists, those seem like the good guys to me.

Yeah. But I guess... I mean, life's more complicated than that, Dan. Now, Dan, did you read the story this is based on?

No, I couldn't get my hands on it in time. You want to talk about it? Well, just... So in the short story, it's not any bee and the alliance.

It's the Soviet Union and the United Nations, is what's happening here. They are often like a... Is that like a moon base? Yeah.

There are things, they take like elements from it, but it is much more of a social commentary on like Cold War and that kind of thing, than, you know, whatever this like corporation versus like... Like the idea that we're presented with that opening kyron is like, it's like big corporate versus the workers, right? And I mean, that is, I think, the end of that sort of idea moving forward because the rest of the movie has nothing to do with like, right, you know, the lives of like the workers and like any of that shit. It's just like...

In fact, like you guys created a whole other huge problem here. Yeah, I mean, the alliance creates the screamers, which I said they're self-replicating. So, and they're also evolving, Dan, into the blurred line between man and machine gets even a little blurrier still. Yeah, sounds like a fellow kyron dick to me.

But yeah, it is like, it is pretty drastically fundamentally different, right? It's like, because the original Soviet Union, United Nations, just like two world powers going at it. And also like that, you know, making the the robots in that, like this thing that's gotten out of control, right? It becomes like in that version, it becomes a threat to both.

They're starting like the robots are starting their own front in this war. Yes, right. So it's a fellow kyron dick. He's obsessed with robots, isn't he?

He loves when robots get to do their own thing. Yeah. When you say... He's one of these robots that do their own thing.

When they do when it fill a kyron dick, I can do bad all by myself, and it's about a robot doing bad. That's right. Without any help. Yeah, so it really it turns into like very very quickly, it just turns into like, I mean, it's like dumb.

It's it's it's screamers. I mean, it's dumb as hell. It's dumb as hell. Yes.

The movie is dumb as hell. Yeah. And they keep they threw out the movie. They'll be like, but why would the N.E.B.

blah blah blah blah. And it's like, who cares? Look how big these guns are. Yeah, that's it is what it comes down to.

So we get it's these soldiers, these alliance soldiers are they're playing some game or whatever, and then they hear they hear somebody coming. And you don't know who it is yet, but it's like it looks like a soldier. He's carrying a gun and whatnot. He's being weird.

He is being super weird. And then we see like some screamers bugs, bunnying their way around under the ground, you know, like a nonsense corn kids. Have we seen such a bugs bunny esque? Bugs bunny ass fucking goofball.

No, it should be left made a left turn at Sirius six a Sirius six B It's crazy. It's way too much. Yeah, it's way too much. So this guy, the alliance soldiers are about to shoot this guy when they're like, oh, the screamers are going to get him.

And then the screamers start like popping up out of the ground. They cut off his arm first. He's holding up this like metal tube and he gets his arm cut off. Then they cut off his leg and then screamer like slices open his head or something.

Yeah. And then that's a business nasty business. And then the alliance soldiers they come out and they see what the guy was holding. And they bring it to their commander, commander, Joe Hendrickson.

Joe, just one of the many classic characters in this. Yeah. You got Hendrickson, Becker, Jefferson. Yep.

You got Ross. You got Hanson. You got Chuck gets his first name for some reason. You got Chuck.

You got Chuck. Yeah. This is one of those where everyone's saying each other's names constantly. Yes.

I love that. I do. Yeah. Yeah.

It is helpful to remember everybody. Whoever he is. Especially in this bad movie. Yeah.

Think of a thing for each character. Just have him keep saying each other's names all the time. You can't make them visually different from one another. Yeah.

Just say Jefferson 200 times. Although it's easy to know who Jefferson is because he looks so much like Paul Simon. Oh, you think he looks like Paul Simon. I thought he looked like Paul Simon.

Okay. Maybe just from certain angles. I thought maybe it's also just his dorky haircut. He does have a dorky haircut.

Who was that other guy? Not Ross. Well, wait, what? Maybe it was Ross.

Who is? Who is the? Yeah. Was that the one character who was on a break?

Is that Ross who was on a break? Yeah. He was on a break and he kept yelling at Joe Hendrix to pivot. He's the.

Oh, oh. Helpful. No, he's not. It's good advice.

Yeah. I will say I there is something about these like 90s, these low budget 90 sci-fi movies that I do like. It's like this cheap sort of aesthetic. Just the all of the underground bunkers and all this shit.

They have just a fun look to me that they're like. We don't he don't have a lot of like set dressing here. So yeah, I'd call this the I call this. This reminds me of a time I went to a pizza place in Arkansas called Pizza Warehouse.

Where anybody talked about Pizza Warehouse before? No, I don't think so. So as its name suggested, it was a warehouse size building, but with like almost nothing in it. Like it was like a 50 yard walk from the front door to the dining room.

Like it's just and just nothing just just a liminal space to get to like the street buffet tables of pizza and the like five arcade games. Yeah, this is Pizza Warehouse syndrome. Yeah, it's way too big a space for how little stuff they had to put in it. Yeah, maybe they thought that they were getting a smaller space or maybe they would just have more.

You think it was like a spinal tapstone hinge calculation maybe? I don't know. It seems like it might be because they're like they have these huge rooms and they're like, all right, get me one of these, these, and these. It's gonna fill up this whole fucking room and then they get them.

It's just like in this one corner. And they're like, all right. I guess what the camera mostly over here. Yeah, I guess let's just get some colored lights to put up.

Yeah, let's do that. How much money do we have for like knobs and switches? Can we put more of those around? It feels wasteful to blow one of these up with a squib, you know?

Yeah, yeah. So they bring the message into Henderson and it's a request for like a parlay basically, like a truce and they want to meet at their bunker, the NEB bunker and they don't want to make this at first. I don't know. I mean, it's all kind of, this is all very dumb, isn't it?

Yeah. Yeah. And then they reach out, they call back to like Earth to their commanding officer, right? And they're like, you know, what do we do with this?

You know, we want to basically want to come back and the guy on the other end is like a hologram message and he's like, no, go meet with them, whatever. And then they have to go meet with them, right? Yeah. Am I, is that like the gist of like that first like sort of scene with the hologram?

Like the guy is just like, yeah, well, the hologram also mentions that they found a non-radiation producing deposit of what's it called? Beryllium. Beryllium. Beryllium, I think is a real thing, but yeah.

They find, yeah, they find a deposit of that that is not emitting radiation and he's like, the war is over. This is great news, right? Then the hologram signal gets kind of fucked up and for the first of many times, throughout the movie, Hendrickson yells this damn radiation. Radiation's interfering with the signal.

Yeah, it's fucking everything up. Another specific guy like those speaking of the radiation, I like that they have to smoke little red cigarettes to sort of like, it was a real throwback to me for like, to like, 2020 when people were like, actually, I think the vape juice might coat your lungs and protect you from COVID. Yeah. Yeah, it is fun.

Again, like that's a fun little like Philip K. Dick kind of a thing to be like, and you have to smoke like anti-radiation cigarettes to protect your lungs so you're not breathing radiation and like that. That's a fun little thing that they have to do. They also, the hologram guy, he's saying to disregard the meeting because they're in peace talks on earth, right?

Peter Weller, he's like, no, I want to, I do want to investigate this. And then there's a plane crash outside of their bunker. Yeah, like a ship. Yeah, it's a shuttle that we call them ships.

Yeah. The shuttle identifies itself as like a, whether it's like a commercial vehicle or like a satellite craft. Like cargo, like non-threatening or whatever. And it crashes and it's full of soldiers now dead, most likely.

And a nuclear reactor, which they say, I think the line is something like a nuclear reactor programmed for weapons. I think it just reacts. I don't think. Yeah, you don't have to program it.

But yeah, so one guy lives, Jefferson, yeah, it's probably Paul Simon. And yeah, so they asked Jefferson, like, what is this? Like you guys, you identified yourself as like, you know, civilian cargo or whatever. And you're clearly not like what's going on here.

And they were being sent in to basically to like, attack the NEB base, right? Which again, it's like, what, because we don't ever find out what anybody is actually really up to, right? What? The NEB or the Alliance?

Not really, not like what's really happening on like Earth or what any like, at a certain point, it just stops being about the Alliance and the NEB, like all together and becomes about the damn screamers, which is like kind of what's happening in the story in the sense that like, the Russians and the United Nations, like they're trying to broker some sort of truth so that they can focus on this other threat. But here, it's just sort of like, I don't know, I guess I'll just go back to Earth and let's try to get back to Earth that we've taken from there. Yeah. But yeah, he says like, the not only were they there to attack the NEB, but also the guy who sent the hologram, the guy from the hologram has been dead for two years.

He was like, executed by the Alliance basically for trying to broker peace, right? So this also feels like, at that point, it feels like an allegory for like, the Middle East, right? It feels like, it kind of feels like Dan, Danny bananas was like, it was like, how can we can temporize this a little because it's 95 Cold Wars over. And recently enough, I think that like, it would feel weird to just put out a Cold War story.

Sure. Yeah. Yeah, I could see that. I could see it being like more of a Middle Eastern thing.

Yeah, because it's not even about like, the conflict is purely about like, resources. Yeah. But again, it's like, it's just weird. The sides are weird in this.

Yeah. It's weird that once like, yeah, I don't know. So maybe it's sorry and we'll figure it out. Yeah, maybe.

Oh, yeah. I guess he does look like Paul Simon, doesn't he? Certain at certain points. Certain angles, yeah.

Yeah. So the, you know, this guy, Jefferson, Phil's, Hendrickson, on all this stuff that guy is dead, that, you know, what they were actually up to. And now like, Peter Weller is like, he wants to go to the NEB base and find out what's going on here. Like, they're cut off now.

They're being lied to by the Alliance that hologram is bullshit. They're like, we don't even know. Like, we have no idea what's actually going on here. We're stuck in this fucking bunker forever.

Yeah. And I just, you know, he just wants to go home. He wants to go back to Earth. So he decides to take Jefferson with him on a, a little quest to the NEB Alliance or any B base.

Really strange use of that song that he played at the intro. Yeah, man. So who is that? Who's, who's that?

It's like nobody. Okay. Yeah. It's, it seems like it was maybe written, let's see, it's music by Jerry Villiers, Jr.

Lulu Hughes saying that. Lulu. Classic Lulu. My second favorite musical Lulu.

Right. Obviously the first one is Lulu Reed or in Metallica. Yeah. That song's weird as hell.

Although I did think that guitar tone was kind of fire. Yeah. The guitar tone sounds good. It doesn't.

It sounds like the same melody as like, I forget who sings it, but like, all I want to do is have some fun, right? Like, all I want to do. Oh, yeah. Right.

Right. Like, I'll fucking play that shit again. It's song rips. Um.

School is that. I'm not playing commercials here. God damn it. No free, no free advertisements.

None of that. It feels like any second this woman is just going to be like, yeah, totally. That little major turn at the end. Yeah.

So, yeah. I don't know. Very strange, but the, he, Jefferson plays this song. He has like a little Disc Man, which is also very funny that in 2078 they have Disc Man.

Feels very, uh, uh, star Lord, doesn't it? Oh, it's like maybe star Lord was taking cues from Jefferson. Yeah. They have a lot of common, I think.

They're both addicted to pornography. The star Lord addicted to pornography. I don't know. I know.

He seems like he can't stop banging. He's like a sex addict, right? Yeah. He is putting it around the galaxy.

Yeah. That's the main thing. That's how we're introduced to him is he's like, I know I have a problem. I know I have a problem.

He's like crying. Yeah. As he's jacking it. There's a green lady just like quietly getting dressed in the background.

God, I'm so fucked up. I'm so fucking sad. A game. Yeah.

Jefferson and Henderson are walking out of the gate, right? And it, uh, Henderson has this red chuck there. Who's like kind of second in command? Um, they seem like they've been, you know, whatever in this service for a while together.

And they go back a little bit. Just such a strange moment. Like they start walking out into like this sort of desolate planet. And they're like, they're playing that song.

Just makes no sense. Cause there's no other fucking like pop music in the movie at all. It's all like, which also feels very star Lord. Right.

He's also listening to like cheesy pop music from the distant past in outer space. All right. So maybe this is, um, I mean, maybe the, uh, the Philip K. Dick estate should, uh, get litigious with, uh, Disney.

I think it's time. I think if there's anybody who can beat in court, definitely. It's the Walt Disney corporation. Yeah.

Did you see what they did with that, uh, the terms and services? Yeah. Yes, I did. That he said, what was it was like he, uh, they couldn't lie for his death.

That was totally their fault. Like someone died at a resort and they said, he because he had a Disney plus subscription, they were off the hook. Yeah. There's something in the terms and, uh, that you agree to that's like, you can't sue Disney if you have signed up for Disney plus, um, which is, that's amazing.

That's, that's such a, uh, that's such a funny thing for a giant corporation to do is like, well, we just slipped this in there. Nobody's fucking rated it. And also you can't ever get mad at us. Yeah.

Don't get mad at us. All right. Cause we're fun. It's in your contract that you have to like the show.

You have to like the acolyte. The acolyte. You watch the acolyte. You fuck with that.

I have not seen the acolyte. Well, I don't, I don't really care about any of that shit anymore. That's for babies to me now. Yeah.

I, I didn't like and we're, I did watch the acolyte, uh, bad show overall. Um, it, it, the ending is like this huge cliffhanger and now I'm making a season two. So that's kind of pointless there. I will say that, you know, it's going to become a cult classic.

Yeah, maybe, maybe well, but the servers will go down and then it will all be free. Just, just, I got to just open up a book and start reading it. Immediately lose 30 pounds. As soon as the servers go down.

Yeah. All right. Screamers. So these two go out into the, the wasteland, right?

You like this wasteland? You like the vibe of this thing? It's like desert and snowy cold desert. I like that.

Oh, it was good to me. We got some like, um, matte paintings of like huge structures and, you know, sci-fi, like, sort of architecture and buildings that have been like, they're crumbling and whatever. They've been bombed out. That's fun.

I love seeing them at painting. It's really like, and for sure. It's like, they, I mean, they look great. They really do.

Even though you know, you're still like, damn, good job painting that. Yeah, great job painting that. I also like the, on the subject of the look of this planet, I do like that it's mostly undeveloped, right? It's like, it's just like a mining colony.

So like, of course it is. It does give like a bit of a sense of stakes. Like, I like how much wilderness they're trudging through. Yeah.

Yeah. That kind of works for me. Yeah, that's fine. Eventually they get to a bombed out city.

Yes. And then they see a little kid who goes, oh, he missed a yummy dad. Oh, he missed a yummy puppy. Now he says, can I come with you?

Yeah. And this is very funny. Like Peter Weller is like, actually, no, you can't. Yeah, I do love it.

He just like, he crosses slowly. Yeah. Takes a knee, hand on his shoulder and goes, no. No, dog, you got to stay here.

You're dead weight. Yeah. He's like, but I will be back in like two days probably. Like you've held out for three, four years.

You'll be fine for two more days. Yeah, you'll be fine. And the kid is like, it's Jefferson is like, we have to take him with us. Like, you can't just leave him here.

And the hand is just fine. So the kid comes with him. Well, notably, they've walked away from the kid. Is this happening to Jefferson?

Like, what are you doing then? He's like, can't do it. And then the kid again says, can I come with you? Yeah.

It's true. It's a little refrain. Yeah, his catchphrase. The boy David from Screamers.

Yeah. That's a nice one lines from the movie. Never mind. I was going to say something gross.

I'm going to be nice. No, I'd say it. Something about how you wouldn't have to change the name of the screamers. Porn parody.

Andrew could keep that line. And that is gross. It is gross. I'm like, I feel like a damn starlord over here.

Yeah. Like a, like a sex addict. Like a damn starlord sex addict. That would be a great way to get sued by the Disney Corporation is to keep talking about how one of their properties is a sex addict.

I mean, we're not saying explicitly that, you know, that stuff is in the movie. But I feel like the subject is all there, you know. That'd be, yeah, this is like our tumbler fanfic is like, it's just everyone's addicted to, it's not like cute or romantic or anything. It's just like, they're just, they're real problem.

They're blown out. Yeah, it's fucking fried dude. It's fucking coming. It's pathetic.

Starlord in a flop house. He could just dried cum all over himself. So later that night they are, they're sitting by a fire of sternos. They just like pop the wall on a couple.

Yeah. And now they just have the flame of the sternos to keep them warm. How was that chicken franchise? Ah, yes, watery.
