Screen Time and Your Child's Mental Health

from Notes from a Child Psychologist · host Dr. Tasha Brown

Technology, namely portable devices, has impacted every industry imaginable while giving us unprecedented access to information. Through these advancements, our children have learned online during a pandemic, connected to relatives in different parts of the world, and gained knowledge at a speed that we could have only imagined 20 years ago. Despite the positive impact that portable computers, tablets, and smartphones have provided, we cannot ignore the negative impact. As children become more connected to devices, parents and caregivers often ask me how these devices and the media that children consume on them impact their mental health. In this episode, we discuss screen time through the lens of mental health for children.
