Script/2/Screen - One Night in Miami...(Pt. 1)
from Script/2/Screen: The BOSSG Podcast Hosted by J.C Stewart, Kenyatta Hoskins, and Mark Liddell
Today on Script/2/Screen Kenyatta, Mark, Derek and I discuss Regina King’s strong directing debut 'One Night in Miami…'! Based on true events and Kemp Powers' stage play the movie depicts one February night in 1964 when four African-American icons in Malcolm X, Jim Brown, Sam Cooke, and Muhammed Ali then Cassius Clay met to discuss their careers and perspectives on one another’s cultural impact to this point. A clash of personalities ensues that provide engaging insights into the sociopolitical issues of their time that echo all the way to today.
