SDSU DC Brian Bergstrom on his loaded & experienced defense and "the long ramp" from Missoula

So much is the same, yet so much is different.   That's how South Dakota State defensive coordinator Brian Bergstrom feels about his second stint at SDSU, with three years as Div. II Winona State's head coach in between.   Bergstrom coached for five years under John Stiegelmeier as safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator before leaving in 2022, before Stig's final season ended with a national championship.   Now, "Bergie" starts his second season as the solo DC under Dan Jackson. What does he mean by "so much is the same, yet so much is different?"   How does Bergstrom size up his talented and experienced defense? It ranked highly among all FCS teams in many defensive categories but was "inconsistent" and finished with a 50-29 loss at Montana.
