Sea Shells by the Sea Shore...and Concrete.

from Once Upon a Planet

Ginger Krieg Dosier is the co-founder and CEO of Biomason - and they have a goal to help save our Earth, one brick at a time. Taking inspiration from marine ecosystems, Biomason aims to eliminate the need to emit carbon to produce building materials - developing a way to grow cement bricks and tiles with bacteria in order to replace traditional cement, the production of which, she says, generates more carbon dioxide than all but two countries, China and the United States. Ginger Krieg Dosier and the Biomason team have a BIG goal and disrupting a billion-dollar building materials industry won't be easy, but it's a goal that's worthy of their efforts because as she says "the planet doesn't have time to wait."
