Sean Burke on The Cam and Strick Podcast

from The Cam & Strick Podcast · host Sean Burke

Few goaltenders have burst onto the NHL scene quite like Sean Burke did in 1988. After a strong showing for Canada at the Olympics, Burke looked like he would be the goalie of the future for Lou Lamoriello and the New Jersey Devils. It didn't play out that way but still didn't keep Burke from moving on and becoming a three-time NHL All-Star. He played 18 seasons in the NHL, represented Canada twice at the Olympics, and finished his career with over 300 wins. He also battled with head coaches Mike Keenan and John Tortorella which has become a trend for our guests on the Cam and Strick Podcast. He held out an entire season, turning down a long-term contract from the Devils. Burke fought a lot, what's more, impressive than a goalie who has had more career scraps than most players? He still has aspirations to be an NHL GM one day and has held just about every position possible since retiring from the game including Assistant GM of the Arizona Coyotes. Burke took a break from playing guitar and renovating his house to join us on this edition of the Cam and Strick Podcast.
