Seaons 1 Episode 28: Creating the Perfect at Home Learning Environment

In Episode 28 of The Staffroom Podcast, Chey and Pav talk about their at-home learning environment for their kids. They discuss what the atmosphere has been like, what they have established as their schedule for the day, and what they predict schedules will be like once the distance ed programs begin with school.  They duo talks about the importance of "Soft Schedules," dedicated time to make and create during the day, and the need for students to have lots of unstructured time. The day cannot be as rigid as it was while we were in school - at home we have to give our children some loose time schedules and frameworks to work around. There should be lots of time during the day to play, there should be opportunity to learn some life and home skills, and there should be time to read.
