Searching for Nature

from Amanda J Jaques Podcast Hosted by Amanda J Jaques

Easter Islands demise has many interpretations as to why the culture fell. It is believed that the construction and movement of the large Moai statues had devastated the land. Resources were trampled on at the expense of the people’s personal desire rather than necessity. Perhaps the Easter Islands demise is an analogy to reflect modern day societies; a society that could be subject to the same demise. Instead of statues, today it is a matter of wealth, prestige and power- with decisions made not for the well being of our people but for the purpose of gain and self-interest.
