Season 1 | Episode 12: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

from Cynthia @ The Table Podcast

Welcome back to Cynthia @ the Table. I am your host, Cynthia, and we have a super great show today!Today’s episode is all about the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. To help us celebrate, we have two special guests at the table.Up first, we have the lovely Penny Arroyo and we also have the talented Chris Reza with us. I am so glad to have you both at the table to share how you celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15th to October 15th and focuses on the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. What I learned as I was doing my research is that Hispanic Heritage Month began as a “week” back in 1968 under the administration of President Lyndon B Johnson, and was expanded by law to a full month in 1988 under President Ronald Reagan. Isn’t that something? We have come a long way in recognizing and celebrating diversity in America, and there is still so much more work to do. Now it’s time to hear from our special guests – so let’s get to it!Quote of the Day:  “We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community…Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” - Cesar Chavez  Hosted on Acast.
