Season 1 Episode 6: Read Alouds in Middle School

Chey and Pav talk about the importance of reading aloud, and how to read aloud in the middle school classroom. They both reflect on the starts to their career, and when they began with reading aloud. They talk about the premise of reading aloud and how it is generally something teachers associate with primary students. Pav talks about the book she is currently reading with her class and the dynamics, and how sometimes within middle school - reading aloud sometimes loses its value and place among students. Chey discusses extension to technology and shared experiences with his classroom in regards to reading novels out loud. Pav finds that reading aloud in the class creates a real community building activity.
