Studies have shown that psychological stress can cause increased levels of cortisol which may lead to insulin resistance, resulting in high blood glucose levels. Additionally, negative thinking patterns can produce higher amounts of adrenaline, which can further aggravate the symptoms. Furthermore, certain lifestyle decisions, such as poor eating habits or lack of exercise, could also be associated with type 2 diabetes via psychosomatic causes.
