starts creding the news. I'm them today. Happy New Year's Eve everybody. What's going on?
Welcome to a brand new episode of the Daily Mine podcast. Back again on the final episode of 2024. That's right. Tomorrow is a new day and also a new year.
And of course, with some of us, it's just another day. Anyway, thanks for joining me today. And of course, yesterday's episode, thanks for joining me on that as well. That episode was a, it was something.
It was fun. Had a lot of fun on it. It was one of my, is there such a stupid question segments, which went pretty well. Had a lot of fun on it.
Had some pretty wild unexpected guests. But nonetheless, the show went fine. Thanks for joining me on that show too. Now here we are.
It's the 731st. We're all like, I know I just came back from the store. I'm not too long ago. Everybody's like running around, going around, going around, hustling, and bustling, getting their last little minute party gifts and party favors and stuff like that, ready for whatever, you know, new year celebration you're having, whether it's a cookout or a simple party or maybe a get together or if you're stupid enough to go stand and watch the ball drop in Times Square, sure.
Let me tell you something. I'm in all my life in New York. No New Yorker, including myself, has never went into Times Square to sit there and watch our ball drop. My balls dropped a long time ago.
I don't want to see another ball drop. I don't want to deal with it. I'm pretty sure it's a once in a lifetime experience. But how do you go to the bathroom?
I was watching a video earlier and it was this woman who was describing how New Yorkers don't go to the seat of the ball drop and how is it that they manage to go and use the bathroom? Because some people get out there as early as five, six o'clock in the morning and the way they did it after 9 11 is that you have to be admitted in. And then I think that's damn near no way you can even get out, you know, bag checks the whole nine. And it makes you think like, why the fuck?
How do you go use the bathroom, you know? I don't know. Anywho, welcome to the show. All right, this is the last episode.
And today's going to be a round table show. I figured, you know, if I'm going to do a year and review type show, why not have it around table? So we can all discuss this year. What's happened this year, big events and, you know, where do you think we're going to be in 2005?
I mean, 25. Do you guys or are some of you guys worried about the next year or not? We'll discuss all that here as well as celebrity passings this year. There was quite a few celebrity passings and a lot of my childhood as far as celebrities have passed away this year too.
I think one of the biggest shockers for me was definitely James over Jones. I think that was like the biggest shocking celebrity death I think this year. And of course, there's all types of things that happen between Trump winning the presidency, him almost getting murked, Didi going to jail. It's just a lot of things.
The big highlight for me, though, real quick, is when I came back from Europe, I was on a nine month rotation. And I missed every single fucking holiday you could imagine, including birthdays in my own. And finally, getting back in August was just the most amazing thing. Unfortunately, they only spent just a little bit of that summer here in the States.
But nonetheless, I was so happy. I didn't care. But it was an experience. I learned a lot over where I was.
And hope to never go back there again. All right, so let's get to it. I'm going to go over the year and review. I got pulled up on a timeline.
I'm not going to read every single thing that happened this year. But I'm going to pinpoint some of the things that I guess we can relate to. We know of, you know what I mean? Woo, everybody.
What's going on? Happy New Year's Eve to you all last year. I mean, last day of the year. Welcome to the last show of the Daily Mine podcast with 2024.
And thank you again for joining me today. And of course, yesterday's episode, which was a lot of fun with some pretty weird interesting guests that came on last night. Thanks for joining me then as well. Can you believe it?
It is December 31st. It is done. And this is not the round table. No, no round table.
But we're done just about with 2024. Hold on. Let me see. I don't even got my Wi-Fi.
There we go. All right. Anyway, so we're done with 2024 just about in some places. It's already 2025 in Australia.
Japan, Korea, it's already 2025. So yeah, I guess for some people, it's going to be just another day, another year. Everybody's got their New Year's resolutions. And you know, their goals and expectations is not wrong with that.
I guess, I mean, you got to have something to look for. So I guess so why not look forward to something? All right. So I just came back from outside.
I just ran a couple of errands. Walmart was packed. There was a lot of people in there. I guess just buying last-minute party favors, stuff for parties, get-togethers, barbecues, whatever you're doing to bring a new year.
Or if you're just sitting by yourself eating a tub of great value ice cream, cool. Or if you're one of those people that are waiting in Times Square to watch a ball drop. Boy, I don't know how you guys do that shit. I'm from New York.
And I can tell you right now, we as New Yorkers never, ever go to Times Square to watch a ball drop. My ball dropped years ago. Why do I need to go to Times Square to watch another ball drop? Pause.
So like any New Yorker, I've never been to Statue of Liberty. I've never been to Times Square to watch a ball drop. No, I know. I haven't even been to the Empire State Building.
But I have been to the OG World Trade Center and the new one. So I guess, again, I haven't lived in New York in a while. I'm bouncing around. I'm here in Tennessee.
But anyway, welcome to the show. Today, I'm going to do a round table episode. It's a segment on this podcast that I normally do on Fridays. But what better way to close out the year than to have an open discussion about 2024?
Obviously, you're here. You made it through the year. How was the year for some of you? Our ups, downs, highlights, big news events, celebrity deaths.
Of course, I'm going to go over all of it. I can tell you right now, the highest, the high point of my year, I guess, was 2024, because half of it was spent in Europe on a rotation. The highest point of my year was just coming back home to the states. That was the high point of my year.
And I missed half of the summer because I got back in August. I missed half of the summer. I spent it over there and then I spent the rest over here. But nonetheless, the summer went fast.
But I was just happy to be back. And yeah, just being back on American soil. I tell you what, a lot of us take for granted being here in the US. I challenge you to go somewhere else overseas.
It's not like America. And if you do plan on going overseas, maybe for the first time, don't go out there thinking everything is like America where there's going to be something open 24 hours and all that other shit. You're going to be solely disappointed at the idea that not to be where it's America. But you have to go see it for yourself.
Don't just take my work for it. All right. So the way this works is I'm just there's no set topic. We could talk about anything that's happened this year.
You guys can share your own experience about what happened, your low points, your high points. So let me debst that shock to you. And what is some of your expectations? I know a few days ago I did a show on New Year's resolutions.
And I'm not a big believer of New Year's resolutions at all. I tried them. We've all tried them. They just didn't work.
And it's not that it can't work because it's really on you for the New Year's resolution to work. If you set a goal or resolution, you got to stick with it. And sometimes those set goals that you may not be able to take care of right away because that's why you have your long term and your short terms. You know, a nice resolution will be a short term goal, something that you could handle right then and there.
But again, that's something for you to kind of just figure out. But anyway, I'm going to get started. I'm going to go over. I have a timeline pulled up of 2024 in review.
All right. Now, again, I would love for some of you to join in. And let me know how your 2024 is. Either you can let me know in the chat below.
Or perhaps maybe you want to just jump on alive and just kind of give you two cents or say hello, whatever. You just want to stop by just to say hello. All right. So I got something pulled up from the Britannica, right?
Games a whole timeline. Hey, Rio, what's going on? You know, I have no idea where Captain James is. Again, people, Captain James is one of my co-hosting executive producers.
Not sure where he is. He shouldn't know that I'm going on live. He's probably getting ready for New Year's. You already know.
You already know he's going to like, you know, get turned up, you know, drink a bit. He might pop up. I'm pretty sure he'll pop up. All right.
So on the Britannica, I have a whole timeline. I'm going to go over. Now, I'm not going to read every single thing that's happened this year. I'm just going to point out some of the more obvious something, a little bit more pop culture related because I would be here all day reading every damn thing that happened.
And I'm not going to do that. All right. So if you starting in January, January, it starts off on January 8, 2024, Michigan, the Beach, Washington, I'm not big on sports. So I'm not going to read too much on the sports aspect of it.
But also one of the big things is for you Taylor Swift fans. This year was the point where Taylor Swift became a billionaire. She, that's right, a billionaire Taylor Swift. February 4, 2024.
No, I'm sorry. Yeah. February 4 this year, Taylor Swift wins a record setting fourth Grammy award for album of the year for midnight to 2023. She also makes news where her Eris Tor, which grossed some 2 billion by the final show in December.
Her tour made $2 billion, people 2 billion. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan. I'm going to tell you right now. Hey, Anna, what's going on?
And happy New Year's to you. We're almost there though, but I just want to say happy New Year. Because I won't be on at midnight tonight. But Taylor Swift, not a big fan of Taylor Swift, but there you are.
No, the fuck. I'm not a Swiftie at all. You got her poster in your room. Shut the fuck up.
No, I do not. Hell no. My wife would kill me just having another woman. Look, she even says something about another woman on my shirt.
And that's Kelly from Say by the Bell. But not Swift. I'm not a Swiftie at all. Not at all.
But you know, you got to give her flowers. Went into speaking about New Year's. Rio, what's your plan tonight? Pack up this house.
Oh, shit. Yeah, I'm in the same page. I'm going to say for so long. Oh, for real.
Damn, that's pretty quick. Yeah, we're going to move into an apartment with downsides a little bit. And then you're putting shit. Yeah, I got to get one here soon.
Yeah, yeah. I'm going to pick out one though, like a 10 by 20. Oh, get the 10 by 20. I'm going to tell you right now.
Like me and her, we got a 10 by 20. Now, we know we don't need all that space, but the idea of just having that space and taking a buy some shit put it in there. And then, you know, a little bit of space to walk around and move shit around 10 by 20. Yeah, absolutely.
It's going for like 84 bucks here. That's climate control. So we're paying a lot. We just opened up over here to brand new over by the neighborhood Walmart and should we pay with the military?
This guy would be like 150. But it's nice. But damn, 84 sounds a lot better. But then again, your spot's not new, right?
It's probably like old spot. No, it's kind of good. It looks like but it is good review. So hey, fuck it.
But that rate, I don't see why not. All right, and we'll catch it a little bit. I'm going to keep going down the road of what happened this year. I'm just reading some of the some highlights.
I don't want to read everything because not everybody really pays attention like some of the stupid little shit. All right, on March 10, Oppenheimer rules the Oscars. Now Oppenheimer was a fantastic movie that came out last year. It won seven Oscars, including Best Picture on March 10.
I didn't even watch that. Oh, man. We went to go see that shit. And I'm asked, I believe, man, three hours that movie was.
And it was just like loud as shit. But it was it was definitely good. I like shit like that. So for me, it was a good movie.
It was the same time Barbie came. I didn't see Barbie. But I went to go see Oppenheimer. All right, March 26.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge. You guys remember that ship that crashed into the bridge in Baltimore? Baltimore. That shit was crazy.
I called my dad and I called my stepmom at the time because they live in that area. And they worked late at night. Well, my dad did at the time. And all I remember was, oh shit, let me give a call real quick.
I know he didn't take that bridge. I just wanted to make sure. But the crazy part about that was the construction crew that was on the bridge. It was a whole crew doing road work.
Had no idea the shit went. And they went down with it. I was like, man, that's got to be some scary shit. I mean, but they're talking about rebuilding the bridge.
It's got to cost about at least $1 to $2 billion to rebuild it. But I'm like, damn, dude, I don't know. I love crossing along bridges like that. That doesn't scare me not one bit.
But that was just unfortunate shit. And then of course, in April, we had a total solar eclipse. In parts of Mexico, the US, and Canada, it was the second one that happened here in North America in seven years. I was away at the time.
So I missed out on that eclipse. But I remember it passed right close to where I live at right now. But I wasn't here to see it. So yeah, I burned my redness.
Wow. OK, why would you look into it? I mean, I remember that one time Trump, during his first presidency, he actually looked up at the eclipse. And people were making fun of it like, you know, what the fuck are you supposed to have, like special goggles or shades or some shit like that?
I mean, I don't know. Where's it? April, Madonna, the singer, pop singer Madonna, she has a free concert on the beach of Brazil. It was attended by 1.6 million people, making it the largest standalone concert event in history by recording artists.
Even Michael Jackson couldn't pull a live event with that many people, but Madonna did. But if MJ was alive, I'm pretty sure he could pull away more than that. But again, that's Madonna. I'm not a big Madonna fan.
You like Madonna real? Yeah. Who said, yeah, I heard of that. Yeah, I might as make a funny event here.
All right, let me go into another story. Iranian President Dye, South Africa's election, blah, blah. May 30 of Donald Trump is convicted for like the 100 fucking time. He was found guilty on 34 felony counts of false ifying business records.
He is the first former US president to be convicted of a crime. But yet this man is president again. Make it make sense. I swear to God, it was almost like they wanted this man to say, tried so hard for this man not to be president.
And he's been convicted and peached. And he's now president again. That's why they call him Steplon Don. I mean, the man just dodged everything.
A lot of people are like, oh, you know, you got money. I'm like, oh, yeah, you got money. But yeah, he got money. All right.
And then the two astronauts that are stuck in space, they were launched on June 5. And there's no stuff. I don't know. No, that's still up there.
Although when I was at the barbershop yesterday, the barbershop talked and talked about everything. They were like, nah, the astronauts are not stuck up there. They're probably somewhere in Galveston, Texas, in some sort of like simulation. They're not really up there.
That's like the question of the moon landing. The first initial moon landing we had, whether it was fake. A lot of people said that it was done in a movie studio. That we never really landed on the moon.
It was done in the movie theater. I mean, movie studios. Yeah, it was. You know, Armstrong never landed.
Are you sure about that? Oh, no, that's one of those conspiracy theories. I did speak about that on that one show I did about conspiracy theories. I did speak about it.
But I don't know. But yeah, it says the Starliner is launched and it dots at the International Space Station the next day. However, because of equipment issues, NASA later decides it's unsafe for the astronauts to return on the spacecraft. I find it hard to believe that they cannot get these people back here as quick.
All this technology, all this money, Elon Musk. And you mean to tell me that they can't get these astronauts back? No, that sounds like bullshit. I'm going to tell you right now.
They're about to get a crazy movie deal. Let me ask you real. You there? Yeah.
OK, you two astronauts stuck up in space. Do you think they fucking? Nah, come on. Now there's no way.
I mean, it can't be that hard. I mean, as long as you don't get spunk all over, like, you know how it floats in the air and shit. But like, you're going to tell me that both of them are. You can like make you can make creations.
There's one. I mean, yeah, but they're not like she's she's an older woman. I think she's looking like she's an 50s. But I'm going to tell you right now.
You mean to tell me that they've been stuck up there and you mean to tell me they're not trying anything on each other? Probably not. No, I'm telling you right now, one of them is copying the field of something because even though they're probably married, but the fact that you're stuck up there I don't know. Hey, that's Captain James.
He's on the show. He just showed up. James, we're just asking about what you're going on. I'm here, man.
What you doing? You're out getting stuff ready for New Year's? Just trying to set up my mother's system. Oh, you went in watching me.
Yeah, I love it. OK, OK, OK. All right, moving along. 2017.
The question. See? Oh, shit. OK.
You about to do a podcast. I got a whole flight service and a lots of clothes. That's a new mic. Yeah, I got my news.
I'll set up too. OK, OK, that's what's up. That's what's up. Oh, shit.
I'm going to be plugging this computer in the show. I'm going to die on the hod on the hod on the hod on the man. I just had a lot of you don't die. You'll be all right, man.
I don't need a computer. The show's got to get uploaded to Spotify because of Midway. That's going to suck. What's up, real?
Well, the party has to know. Shit in the house. I'm on my way. Eddie getting wasted.
Eddie, you getting crunk tonight? Nah, man. I'm just going to the casino. We're going to play for a bit.
Are you going to drink up here? I might kick back a wine. I'm going to get a Jack and Coke is something. I mean, actually ain't nothing.
The Jack and Coke? Whoa. I think that a little too much for you, buddy. Oh, yeah.
I've graduated from the fucking Smearnoff Little Ice Things or four Locos. Yeah, it could be a bit much. What do you go? I bet you have.
I bet you have. We're going. We're going once she comes back to supposed to get off by like five o'clock. We'll see.
Once you get back and what's up, don't want the show. I'm just going to get showered up. And then yeah, we'll be out for a bit. So for all night, that's a long ass time.
I think I see no one can lose right away. No, that's what I'm saying. So no, initially, right? She wanted to go early because they had like the $50 thing at the grandstand that they have there.
They have a $50 or you eat all their thing. I'm like, I'm not spending $50 to eat all theirs, man. So I mean, I was going to be a golden over. That's what I'm saying.
So I was like, you know what? Now, since we're not going to do the other thing, we can leave a little bit later. You know what I mean? But yeah, you could go at like 10, 930, 1030.
I said, eight. You go 20 o'clock. 20 o'clock. I said eight o'clock the earliest.
She's like, because one thing about her, and I told her that shit. And I was like, you know what? You're just going to lose it all right at the beginning. Then that's on her.
She got to sit there. Look stupid, because I told her, I was like, if you start going to see, you know, if you start getting a gambling addiction, we're going to have a serious fucking problem. And I was dead serious about that. And I slowly think, you know, but see again, her grandmother is the same way they go to the casino and play.
It's almost like a family street of sort. And I told her. What is this different if you win every now and then? It's not a win.
That's the thing. Yeah. And if you still have money for your bills and stuff, it's fine. OK, bills.
Yeah, that's the thing. And that's her thing. So she wins more than I do. And all that shit is paid.
But it's like, you don't have to go every goddamn week. I mean, yeah, I get it. It's right up the road. And I was like, hm, I was like, what are you going to do when we go overseas?
And there's no casino. You go, you're going to be hurt. I mean, I don't know. Yeah, but there you go.
And there's the scene on the phone. Yeah, that's the place that on the phone, too. That's why I'm like, yo, I'm kind of scared. Because I think she might be getting on the picture.
Rousher. Oh, he plays that shit? Yeah. That's 110,000.
One morning when we woke up in. He wasn't in bed. Was it real? Oh, wait a minute.
Wasn't that shit that everybody was playing that they only play in Europe? It was like an app that they downloaded. I forgot what it was called. But most of that is Bitcoin and crypto currency.
No, that's what it was. That's exactly what it was. Yeah, that's what it was. You can't really like transfer that into regular money.
You have to like pay for shit and crypto, which is weird. Oh, no, no, no, no. You can't. The game that he was playing, he got real money.
Like, he was dollars. I forgot what it was. But a lot of the Joe's and shit were getting in there. I had two up about it.
But he kept winning. He kept fucking winning. But I heard it's not legal here. That app is not legal here.
That's why I was like, I was like, I was like, OK, well, if I'm coming back here, there's no sense of even having it. No, you can play it on a what's it called? You can use VPN. So VPN, that's what I did.
OK, I used VPN. OK, I mean, I guess that word. And I connected it to Canada or somewhere. Yeah, I was able to play.
Hey, Chucho, what's going on? What's going on? Happy New Year's coming up to you. What you got playing?
What's up? What's up? What's up? What's that?
How much you bring into the table tonight? I'm playing low. I'm playing like the cheapest games there, man. Just like the last tonight.
You know what I mean? Like, this is one game that we've been hitting pretty good. That's like 88 cents a bit at the minimum. I don't know any spot.
I'm going to turn 100. Nah, I did well a few nights ago. And then I spent some of it, you know, food and other things like that, of course. But I'm I'm not going to play.
If you win a lot, you have to pay taxes right away. Or do you pay taxes right away? OK, so the deal is if you win $600 at the minimum, a jackpot, right? 600 bucks, you can opt to pay it.
Like you get all the paperwork, tax paperwork, and you can either pay it with you can either wait on the taxes or have them take out the taxes or you just do it later. You'll just get the form and use it for a tax on it. I would just have them take it, you know, if I would just trust myself, don't mention it. Yeah, yeah, because you might forget and be like, oh, shit, I'm on it.
Oh, yeah, remember those winnings you won at the casino? Yeah, yeah. No, it's best to just let them take it and then you just take whatever else you got. And that's it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. She only won one jackpot this year. I didn't even win shit. I mean, I won money, but not a jackpot.
Nah. I won a jackpot. It wasn't last year. It was like 600 and something not like 600, 700.
It was a jackpot. But I was like, no, I don't have that kind of luck. I don't know why. And hey, that's what's up.
I mean, just chilling with the family. I guess that's just the way ago. You know, I don't really do shit on New Year's. I know honeymoon has come on and I've watched that shit afterwards.
I'm old. All right, I'm going to go back to that timeline. What happened in 2024? In June 2024, Joe Biden and Donald Trump face off in their first presidential debate, his Biden's disastrous performance plays a key role in his decision to drop out of the race.
I'm telling you, people were in his ear, like, I don't think he made that decision. I think they told him, like, yo, step aside. There's no way. Because I remember watching that debate.
It was bad. It was a pretty bad debate. All right, Chucho, you said instead of fireworks, I'm discharging my boom stick. Paul is eight.
He's a few people. Oh, OK, I was thinking some other shit. And I'm the gutter. Fuck.
All right. Oh, man, shit. Oh, yeah, just be careful, because what goes up comes down. And every people that actually get killed by it, like falling, falling rounds, shells and shit, they get killed by that shit.
You're going to go release your boom. Your boom stick at the casino. No, I'm not. I'm just going to play in the lead once hit 12 o'clock.
Out of there. I even bought the 2024. Are you going to yell Happy New Year? Oh, no.
It's weird because I've never celebrated New Year's at a casino. And I know it's going to be packed probably. And I know people going to yell Happy New Year's when it hits 12 o'clock in New York with the ball and they're going to hit 12. I'm not yelling that shit.
I know somebody is going to yell it. It's not going to be me. But you know, find my wife, Hug and Kiss. And then yeah, there it is.
All right. Let me see what other little news articles going down, New British Prime Minister July 13th. Now you guys remember what happened in July of 2024 on July 13th? No, I didn't think so.
Donald Trump's not Donald Trump. Donald Trump Donald Trump Donald Trump's assassination attempt happened that time. Yeah, July 13th, 2024 Trump is injured by gunmen. Now it says Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee at the time survives an assassination attempt after the gunman opened fire during the campaign event in Pennsylvania.
Trump suffers a wound to his ear. Now, do you guys think that he really did get hit with that or what? All right. They went new.
All right. Moving right along. I don't know. I mean, I was overseas when the whole Donald Trump thing happened in Butler, PA.
And I can tell you it was like the first thing I woke up to. Oh, yeah. OK, you say he got hit because a lot of people were like, oh, it's stage. But somebody actually died in the crowd from that.
So I'm like, well, you can't fake this shit, you know, or maybe it missed Trump and then hit the guy. And then, you know, because everybody was like, oh, when they crowded him and put them on the floor, they were like, oh, he was probably just putting his makeup and shit on. I was like, no, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure he got grazed.
That's a lucky ass man. I've never seen somebody with that much luck at all. All right. And then there's the Paris Olympics, blah, blah, blah.
And then in August, Vice President Kamala Harris is officially certified as a Democratic presidential candidate, thereby becoming the first black woman and first Asian American in the US history to win the presidential nomination of a major party. Even if she did not win, the fact that she has made history in a few ways than one, I give her flowers. But again, she still made history may not be president, but she still made history. All right.
And then in August 30, Brazil puts a ban on Twitter or X or whatever you want to call it because of rampant disinformation on the site. The ban is lifted in October after X agrees to various requirements, including removal of certain accounts. Why does this sound so familiar? This almost sound like what's going to happen with TikTok.
But again, I don't think TikTok is going to be banned and then reopened. I think they're going to find a solution before the cutoff of TikTok. Again, I don't think TikTok is going anywhere. And a lot of people are panicking and shit.
A lot of people not even talking about it as much no more as they did a few weeks ago, which is different. All right. And then of course, September, Hurricane Helene makes landfall in Florida, causing widespread destruction and more than 230 deaths across the region, especially Western North Carolina. They put estimated cost of $200 billion in damage, which makes it the most costly as Hurricane in US history.
Now, I remember we got a little taste of Helene, but it was just rain and then some of my backyard flooded with the grass, but that was it. We didn't get anywhere close to what North Carolina got. And then Mexico makes history as swearing in its first female president. And not to mention, she is not only just the first female president in Mexico.
She's also the first Jewish president in Mexico. I didn't even know. I know, right? I didn't even know that.
Maybe a Mexican Jew. Yes, basically a Mexican Jew. Yeah. And that's a good place.
I know. Yes, to this Jews everywhere, even in Mexico. Yes, it's true. I know it's kind of hard to believe, but you got to think too.
Like the way you see like Jews is like, I could be Jewish because it's not a race. It's more like a religion. So they are better fucking start growing a chinstrap. A chinstrap.
Listen, it's different. It's different. Oh, you can't. Oh my God.
You can't say. Listen, look, there's Jews everywhere like this. Black people everywhere. Yes, you know, there's a lot of that too.
What? Oh, they live in New York. You know how they are. You talk about the Orthodox Jews?
I mean, yeah, the third one. I wouldn't say they'd be looking at you weird. I mean, I think look at me weird. Do I care?
I don't give a fuck. I keep going. I don't care. Well, yeah, because if you try to find them, ten of them will hop out on a minivan and try to whip your ass on the fucking bus stop.
I've never seen a van full of Orthodox Jews hop out of a van to beat somebody. Now I've never seen that. Now they do roll tight. They roll in big groups, but I've never like, I mean, I got their own police and EMS and shit, but I never see them jump anybody ever.
That would be crazy if I seen some shit like that, but not have to say anything like that. All right. October 13th, SpaceX launches Starship and in an unprecedented move, large metal pincers known as chopsticks catches the spacecraft. I almost look like it's going like it's playing backwards.
Like it's coming down and then these large pincers like catches it with no problem. And then October 29th, deadly flooding in Spain. 200 people are killed. I look at that the pictures literally a whole pile of cars on the street.
And then November, the depth of musician Quincy Jones, he dies at 91. What else? And of course, November 5th historic US election Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, defeating Kamala Harris. He is the first.
That's what they wrote on him. They wrote that he is the first convicted felon to be elected to the office and the second president to win a second non consecutive term. Who wrote that box? No, this is on Britannica.
It's like a online encyclopedia. They used to have like physical psychopedias, but now they moved on to, you know, the internet age. But that's like two show mentioned earlier that history books, they're going to be talking about this man for years to come because he's done shit. No other president has ever done ever.
I mean, a convicted felon as a president is crazy, but he's the first to do it. He's the first. All right. And then November 18th, Spirit Airlines falls for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
It's the first major US airline to do so since American Airlines 13 years earlier. And then of course, Russian Ukraine American Airlines turned it around. No, they really did. They really did.
They're whole different American Airlines, a whole different one. And then of course, Russia, Ukraine war continues with pretty sure what you saw from site. And then it ends with Jimmy Carter passing away with two days. Oh, no, I mean, there's a lot more to what happened in this year.
But like I said, I mean, I don't know. I do. Twenty twenty four is a pretty forgettable year. I think so.
What do you guys think about twenty four was this was this year a big year for you guys or was it not? You guys can chime in any time you want. All right, who's joining? Oh, 24 2024.
Well, how was 2024 for you guys? I guys say it's not very memorable. The only memorable part is just coming home from overseas. Hey, Chico, what's going on?
Hello. Hello, everybody. This is also one of my new co-hosts because he's no longer a guest on here. Chico.
So yeah, I'm not aware. We're having a round table. Today, and we're looking back at twenty twenty four reading some of the highlights. I'm going to go over celebrity passings.
And then I'm just asking the question of how was twenty twenty four for everybody? Like who wants to take it first? How was twenty twenty four for you? To me, I wasn't very memorable, I think.
I don't know. I guess I'll talk. Yeah. They did a little busy.
No, I guess for me, you know, to get in with shaking like going through a lot, but I guess like near like the middle, I think things got better. New relationship and then like, you know, come back to the States or whatever. That was a big one for me, too. I was just talking about that.
Yeah, that's that's my big highlight was coming back from overseas. And I guess the low point. I'd rather be over there. You said you would rather be over there.
I would rather be in Europe right now. 100% OK, what part of Europe though, because you don't want to be where we were. Romania. OK, if I'm going to be real Germany's not bad.
No, Germany's Germany was a bad. We just gave it a go. So I was just, you know, how guys say this. It was just a little rotation of you.
Poland was way better though. Poland is way better. I don't know. I enjoy Poland quite a few times because I basically worked there.
I was back to back to back going there. And it was it was really, really fun. I guess I guess the low point would be me being over there, at least in Estonia. But like Germany wasn't too bad.
Not at all. It wasn't bad. But I don't know. To me, this year just wasn't a memorable one.
This was one of those years that I don't know. Just kind of went by and nothing too crazy. I didn't lose any. You turned 50.
I don't turn 50. I didn't turn 50. I didn't turn 50. That's crazy though.
I'm about to turn 40. If that's crazy in itself, I was thinking about this shit as we, you know, wind down in, you know, the last week of the year. And I was like, shit, I'm about to be 40. That shit should I better be in your will.
I ain't going anywhere. Will. Jesus Christ. Let me at least make it the January 1st.
This is my goal. We love that right now. Oh shit, it's crazy. Yo, Mikey.
