Season 2 Episode 1 Kate Howey

from The Original Judo Podcast · host James Austin

Return of the podcast- its a new Olympic cycle, and there’s a commonwealth games just over 6 months away, so it seems fitting to call this season 2.Absolutely delighted to start the season with this interview- with the incredible Kate Howey- she went to 4 Olympics, winning a silver and a Bronze, alongside 5 worlds medals. She then transitioned to coaching and was matside with Team GB at London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021, in the chair for most of the British medallists from those Games. As a fan of her competitive career its was a massive honour when she agreed to the interview and there wont be a better one this season- she is so open and engaging about her career and what started out as a planned half hour ended up being an hour. Kate has recently finished as Head Coach at British Judo- we wish all the best with the next steps in her career and look forward to seeing what they may be!Share and Subscribe, and then leave us a review whereever you get your podcasts
