Season 2 Podcast 84 Christ as Our Center

from A New Voice of Freedom · host Ronald

Christ as Our CenterWe all need a center. In my childhood I was fortunate. My father and mother were the earthly center of our home, though mother was the axis upon which we turned, and Jesus Christ was the heavenly center. Following their model, my wife and I regularly gathered our six daughters around the piano and sang hymns. Now, grown up and having families of their own, our children are scattered to the four winds; however, due to the miracles of our day we have facetime and zoom in which we gather together monthly and share the gospel, seeing and hearing each other in real time though thousands of miles apart. But even in the most ideal of circumstances almost no one escapes tragedy. It lurks like a leaping tiger pouncing when the prey is least ready. To all those who are caught up in the deadly D’s, for all those who are in the city of confusion, to all those who are in the valley of decision, this Christmas season, I invite you to heed the words of Christ. To set your compass on the “bright and morning star” who is the Star of Jacob. Let Christ be your center, your fixed point. Trials may continue but your backs will be strengthened until Christ in his wisdom and mercy lifts your burden.  And he will in his time lift them. Repeatedly Holy Scriptures admonish us to “wait on the Lord.” We do not always know how long we must wait, but in the meantime, he will strengthen our backs that we may bear our burdens, and we in our despair, if we endure, will witness miracles. I know from personal experience that what I just said is true.Christ said, 28 ¶ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30) I would like to end this podcast with one of my favorite scriptures, 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
