This week I speak with Tracy Crump. Tracy dispenses hope in her devotional book, Health, Healing, and Wholeness: Devotions of Hope in the Midst of Illness Based on her experiences as an ICU nurse and caregiver. Her book has garnered multiple awards, But she is best known for contributing twenty-two stories to Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Tracy’s articles and devotions have appeared in diverse publications, including Focus on the Family, Mature Living, Ideals, The Upper Room, Woman’s World, and Guideposts books!! As co-director of Write Life Workshops, she conducts workshops, teaches at conferences across the country, and edits The Write Life newsletter. She is also a freelance editor and proofreads for Farmers’ Almanac. We have a down-to-earth conversation about her life, her struggles, and her victories. We look at the sacred process of healing and caregiving. As a caregiver to my parents currently, I found it to be one of the most encouraging interviews to date! Tracy and I have become fast friends. She is talented, humble, and kind! Tracy and her husband, Stan, live in north Mississippi. They homeschooled both their sons and now dote on five completely unspoiled grandchildren.
