Season 3 Podcast 26 The War on Earth Pt I
from A New Voice of Freedom · host Ronald
The War on Earth Pt IThere is a misconception that God created evil. It isn’t possible for God to create evil. He would negate himself. We all remember the Savior’s parable:23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? (Matthew 12:23-26) Therefore, we need to understand what evil is. Evil is not a thing of itself, just as it is not possible for God to create Satan. Evil is the negation of that which is good.God created Lucifer which literally means the Shining One or Lightbringer. Isaiah calls him “Lucifer, son of the morning.” Lucifer is our brother just as Christ is our brother. We are all spirit children of God. Christ was the oldest. He was equal to God before he ever came to earth. He was Jehovah. He was the Chosen One. From Lucifer’s description, we can only assume that he also was great in the kingdom of God, though certainly not equal to Christ. God created Lucifer. Lucifer created Satan. Lucifer became Satan because he led a rebellion against Christ, wanting to overthrow his kingdom and usurp his power:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Revelation 12:7-8)Because of his rebellion Lucifer was cast out of heaven18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:18)After he was cast out of heaven, he became known as Satan:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9) Satan also became known by other names: “chief of demons,” “prince of devils,” Beelzebub.” Lucifer was only mentioned once and that was in the Old Testament. On earth his more familiar names are Satan or Devil. Satan is referred to as the father of lies, but Satan did not create evil. Satan is evil because he violated absolute law. Evil is nothing more than the violation of the laws of God. To understand evil, we must understand law.All things, temporal and spiritual are governed by law. Chaos self-exists. It is law that brings order out of chaos. The two great opposites are law and lawlessness, order and chaos, creation and destruction. By obeying the laws of God, we have law, order, and creation. By disobeying the laws of God, we return to lawlessness, chaos, and destruction. Sin is violation of law and always leads to destruction, disorder, misery, and captivity. The Jews called Satan, “The Spoiler.” Satan is incapable of creation. He can only destroy that which others have created. He wanted to overthrow Christ and the Kingdom of God.
