My special guest in the Sweetspot will be bass guitarist Freddie Washington! In the music industry, there are bass players and then there's "Ready Freddie“, the first call studio musician, songwriter and live performance player who brings uniquely pertinent credentials to his role.  Early in his career, he played with Herbie Hancock for several years including on the  hit albums, "Feet Don't Fail Me Now," "Mister Hands" and"Monster." But that was just the beginning and Freddie's influence was evident as he produced his own recipe for success as an artist by stirring emotions and eliciting reactions through his booming bass guitar. His collaborative efforts with friend and musician, Patrice Rushen, produced the early '80s hits "Haven't You Heard" and "Forget Me Nots."  Yes, Ready Freddie played and toured with legacy artist including: Michael Jackson, George Duke, Kenny Loggins, George Benson, Jose Feliciano,Anita Baker, Smokey Robinson, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder. Guitarist Ray Parker Jr.  says, “He is the rock and foundation that the grooves sit on!”Join me in the Sweet Spot  with “Ready Freddie Washington”!
