Season 5, Episode 11 - Why Nations Fail, Warren Buffet, More gun laws don't equal less gun violence, Democracy vs. Constitutional Republic, voter ID laws, NYC declares a state of emergency, and more!

In this week's podcast, our quote of the week is from the authors of the book Why Nations Fail. It discusses how a country's economic system and taxation policies can kill innovation and remove the incentive to invest in and expand businesses.   We'll play a short clip of Billionaire Warren Buffet giving some excellent life advice to a group of college students.   We'll compare the differences in the number of state-level gun laws and homicide rates between two different states at opposite ends of that spectrum and ask, "Do more gun laws reduce gun deaths?" and the answer appears to be a resounding "NO."   We'll play a clip of an individual explaining the differences between a Democracy and our Constitutional Republic form of government and explain why so many on the left are trying to convince people that the United States is a Democracy.   We'll play a clip of an interviewer asking a bunch of young white people if voter ID laws are racist and then hear what black people have to say when they are told what the white people said.   In our "Be careful what you wish for" segment, we'll tell you why New York City asks the governor to declare a State of Emergency for that city so that they don't have to follow their self-imposed sanctuary city requirements.  In light of the Georgia school shooting last week, we'll compare how many school shooting incidents have taken place in schools where specially trained teachers and staff are allowed to carry concealed weapons in those schools vs. schools where that practice is prohibited.   Our taxpayer relief shot comes to us from Maryland, where a restaurant employee shoots & kills an armed robber.
