Rose Red may have premiered back in 2002, but its power has not faded. While not a conventional haunted house tale, its genius lies in a grounded realism that makes the terror feel palpable. It's honestly a tragedy that this miniseries is so often overlooked, because it remains a brilliant, underrated piece of horror that deserves a permanent place in the horror community. One person who stands out the most is Matt Keeslar who plays Steven Rimbauer perfectly; a most talented actor who deserves top recognition for his portrayal in this miniseries. Although Rose Red is considered a miniseries, it’s still on my rewatch list not only because of the story line but also because of the actors who delivered their roles phenomenally. And to be honest, I believe that this movie still resonates with audiences almost 25 years later.
