Performance builds success.” Says ChavarriaGreg Chavarria is the City Manager of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a position he has held since July 23, 2022. Chavarria previously served as Assistant City Manager of the City of Fort Lauderdale since September 2020.His experience includes serving as a transformational leader with a strong focus on business improvement, optimizing the customer service experience, and implementing digital innovation strategies. As an innovator with a deep grasp of technology, organizational change management, and project management capabilities, he has delivered smart city and sustainability solutions that improved public safety, process management, and accountability.Innovation, smart cities, and bringing forth digital citizen engagement strategies for constituents are his passion. Notable smart city projects Greg has led include the implementation of smart surveillance detection systems, smart lighting systems within public facilities, the development of mobile apps to increase public engagement, and the implementation of smart metering for water utilities.He has earned professional certifications such as the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and ITIL v3.
