After a much-needed break, the longest since first starting the podcast back in 2021, we've returned to continue finishing out season 7 with the wonderfully wholesome and sonically smooth Brazilian legend, Roge. A staple and serenader to all surrounding sunsets, the iconic musician has been occupying his rhythmic renaissance since the release of-2023's "Curyman", part one of an on going trilogy on self reflection, cultural captivation, autiobiographical alchemy and the ultimate freedom in music. We speak about his family's epic relocation from Brazil to LA, the courage and commitment of being a musician, no matter your genre or various strategies, his highly anticipated follow-up, "Curyman II" and much much more. Enjoy!

Song of the Lark, The by Willa Cather (1873 - 1947) LibriVox Set in the 1890s in Moonstone, a fictional place supposedly located in Colorado, The Song of the Lark is the self-portrait of an artist in the making. The story revolves around an ambitious young heroine, Thea Kronborg, who leaves her hometown to go to the big city to fulfill her dream of becoming a famous opera star. The novel captures Thea's independent-mindedness, her strong work ethic, and her ascent to her highest achievement. (Summary by Wikipedia) Journey to the Nature Within Podcast Koelle Simpson Over the years, I’ve seen the incredible insights that can come when we listen to one another’s real life stories, struggles, questions and “aha moments”. When we have the opportunity to witness one another’s process, we can learn a great deal about ourselves while also recognizing that we’re not alone in this wild adventure of reclaiming and restoring our own true nature. That’s why I’m happy to announce my new podcast called Journey to the Nature Within where I’ll be sharing anonymous life coaching sessions along with interviews from individuals who share a unique perspective on life. From an early age, horses have helped me to viscerally recognize just how much life tends to mirror back to us the internal, emotional relationship we each are having with ourselves. Time and again, I find myself in awe to discover that my life experiences and those of my clients are often a reflective self-portrait for how each of us are treating ourselves on a given day.For most human beings this intern Religio Medici and Hydriotaphia by Thomas Browne (1605 - 1682) LibriVox Religio Medici (The Religion of a Doctor) sets out Sir Thomas Browne's spiritual testament as well as being an early psychological self-portrait. In its day, the book was a European best-seller. It was published in 1643 by the newly-qualified physician, and its unorthodox views placed it swiftly upon the Papal Index Librorum Prohibitorum in 1645. Although predominantly concerned with Christian faith, the Religio also meanders into digressions upon alchemy, hermetic philosophy, astrology, and physiognomy.Hydriotaphia, Urn Burial, or a Discourse of the Sepulchral Urns lately found in Norfolk, was published in 1658. Its nominal subject was the discovery of a Roman urn burial in Norfolk. The discovery of these remains prompts Browne to deliver, first, a careful description of the antiquities found, and then a careful survey of most of the burial and funerary customs, ancient and current, of which his era was aware. The most famous part of the work, though, is the fifth chapter, Undeniable. Jake Rabeck Undeniable is an effort to recognize the elements that make up truly impactful music. By using my own ideas about life and art as a filter, and my own experience of the music as a case study, I believe a much more interesting perspective can be explored and articulated than that of lists seeking to rank music in a definite order. In choosing what I cover, Undeniable becomes a bit of a self-portrait and through that self portrait, a greater understanding of how music connects us all just might be reached.
