Our quote of the week this week was sent in by a listener in Rhode Island and is from columnist George Will on how hard it is to find common sense these days.In our Stupidest thing I’ve heard all week segment, we have 3 nominees. You decide the winner: The first is a collection of street interviews with young people who apparently didn’t learn anything in school. The second is a statement by the Arizona Attorney General telling residents of that state that they have the right to shoot ICE agents if they enter their home unannounced. The third is a decision by a Spirit Airlines gate agent who wouldn’t let a family in Los Angeles board a flight to Puerto Rico because their 2-year-old child didn’t have a passport. In a runner-up to our Stupidest thing I’ve heard all week contest, we have a story out of Minneapolis last week where more than 50 women went into a local Target store, each one buying just one box of Morton salt and then immediately lining up to return it as part of a protest against ICE because “Salt melts Ice.” In our Way-back segment, we have a quote from Senator Chuck Schumer demanding that the government do more to speed up the deportation process for illegal aliens living in this country. In our Global Warming Update segment, we’ll tell you how global warming is affecting ferry service between New Jersey and NY City. Millions of people are now taking GLP-1 medications every week to help them lose weight. We’ll tell you why that trend might wind up saving the airline industry more than $100 million annually. We’ll tell you about a story the CNN ran, telling listeners why the average tax refund they could expect to see this tax season could be $1,000 higher than the refund they got last year, and whose name they managed to leave out of that report. Our taxpayer relief shot segment this week is from Stockton, California, where the son of a jewelry store owner takes on 8-armed robbers.
