Season 8, Episode 7 - Economist Milton Friedman, Congresswoman AOC, IRS employees who owe back taxes, SAVE Act, Amazon delivery drivers in NYC, Rhode Island hockey shooting, and much more!
from The situation with Jerzee Joe · host Jerzee Joe
Our quote of the week comes from economist Milton Friedman, comparing the good a government can do with the harm it can cause. In our stupidest thing I’ve heard all week segment, we have two nominees, both from Congresswoman AOC. You decide the winner. We’ll tell you how many IRS employees owe back taxes and how much they owe, and ask why they are still working for that agency. We’ll dissect the various claims being made about the proposed SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and a Photo ID to cast a ballot. We’ll tell you about legislation being proposed in New York City that would require all Amazon delivery drivers to be actual employees of the company, who is behind that legislation, and what it would do to the prices New York City residents would pay for items they order from Amazon. We’ll play a clip of Bill Maher commenting on the person the New York City Mayor chose to be his housing chief, and ask why the media has decided not to cover that story. With another mass shooting at a Rhode Island hockey rink this week, we’ll look at the frightening number of mass shootings carried out by people who identify themselves as Transgender. In our health & science segment, we’ll tell you about a new device that you can clip onto your underwear to improve your health. Our taxpayer relief shot segment this week is from DeKalb County, Georgia, where a father who was hiding in a closet with his 4-year-old son winds up shooting & killing a home invader.
