Second Book of Nephi, Chapter 4. Book of Mormon 1830 First Edition

from Green Eyes Yolanda · host Yolanda Tranquille Geer

Nephi speaks of his brethren getting angry with him after the death of Lehi, wishing death upon him. In prayer he is told to flee into the wilderness with all those who would follow him. He takes the plates, genealogy and the sword of Laban and the compass. They make swords after the sword of Laban and live by the law of Moses. They call the land the Land of Nephi. They build a temple and Nephi consecrates Jacob and Joseph. He mentions this is when 30 years have passed since leaving Jerusalem. Before 40 years was up, there had been contentions with his brethren left behind, known as the Lamanites.
