Okay. It is January 2nd, 2024. What should I do a podcast about? Because I'm doing one every day.
Damn it. Every day. Well, five days a week. I'm going to take weekends and sit down on my back patio and sip.
What will I sip? Diet Coke. I don't know. We'll get this thing figured out.
And welcome to The Daily Grateful. I'm your humble and obedient host, Michael Kroos. And it's January 2nd, and goodness gracious, you know, I'm busy right now. I've got to tell you, I've got things going on in my house.
Because my youngest son, who's 28 years old, yeah, I'm old, is moving in here with his girlfriend. And they're moving into the room next to the studio, which used to be his bedroom at one time. And then he moved out a long time ago. Zach moved out years ago.
And he would come back every once in a while for a week or two. But, you know, always liked living on his own. Well, now him and his turtle dove, his honey pumpkin lover, his heart's delight, had to move out of the apartment that they were in for six years. And so now they're getting ready to move back into here.
Well, that room had turned into my business office and my favorite ex-wife, Diane's eBay business. Diane ran an eBay business out of there for years and did very well with it and then stopped. Because she said, I'm going to go travel and do other things. So she did that and left all of her stuff here.
All her stuff is there. So when they wanted to move in, I said, okay, yeah, you can move in. Absolutely. I'd love to have you.
It's going to be nice. I like that part. But getting that room cleaned out has just been. And I'm almost done.
Almost done. They were over yesterday. Or his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mother was over yesterday. I don't think his girlfriend's mother likes me, but I don't know.
Anyway, but I'm committed to doing these gratitude podcasts five days a week. I did one yesterday. And, oh, my computer just made a noise. Okay, so we'll shut that off.
There. And I don't have it, so we just keep going. So I went on to ChatGPT and I said, what did I say? What was my prompt?
I said, what should I do a gratitude podcast about on January 2nd, 2024? And here's what it says. It says, since it's January 2nd, 2024, you have a lot of exciting possibilities for your gratitude podcast. Am I not reading well today?
The lighting in here changed a little bit. Here are some ideas based on the day's current trends. Oh, right. I haven't read this yet.
I have not looked at any of it. So we're going to go with it and I'll analyze this as we go along. Themes. New Year's Reflection.
Express gratitude for the lessons learned in 2023. Do I want to express gratitude for some of those things or do I want to hide from them? You know, that's, oh, gosh, it is so fun and fuzzy to come out here and say, I'm so grateful for this that happened in 2023. You know, 2023 was an interesting year.
It was just a totally interesting year. Was it all good? No. Was it all bad?
No. Was there joy? Yes, there was lots of joy. Was there bad things?
Tons of them. Celebrating the small wins and accomplishments from the past year. This is boring. Appreciating the people who supported you throughout the year.
And you know what? I do. I do. I am just so grateful for the people who supported me.
I truly am. You know, my daughter, who's a podcaster, Cassandra Explains It All, and another one, her newest and actually most popular one, but yeah, she was very supportive. My kids have been supportive and it's, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then it says focusing on positive intentions for 2024.
A fresh start. Gratitude for new beginnings and second chances. How about third chances? How about fourth chances?
Or even fifth or sixth. I mean, you know, I'm all, you know, we have all screwed up a bunch of times in our life. And if you're like me, you have screwed up, you know, I got married at a young age. It didn't work out.
Wonderful woman. Gave me two of my five children to this day. I think she's phenomenal. You know, I think she's absolutely phenomenal.
Great mother. She had two daughters with her new husband. New husband, they've been married for like 25 years or longer. I think 30 years.
Fabulous daughters. But then I had a second chance and that was my favorite ex-wife. And that ended, I had no kids with her, but my best friend, my total best friend to this day, I mean, she's here all the time. But that was a second chance and that didn't work out.
So then I took a third chance with the last Mrs. Gross, who I adopted her two children and we had my youngest together. I don't think I'm looking for any more chances in that department. Moments of joy.
Highlight simple everyday moments that brought you joy on January 2nd. What has brought me joy on January 22nd? When I got up this morning, I walked into that room and my goodness, it's such progress. As soon as I'm done with this podcast, I'm heading right back in there.
And I always talk about, you can always find joy in chaos. And I look for that. I, I look for joy in chaos. Every day, if there's chaos, I look for joy in it.
Winter beauty. Appreciate the beauty of winter. No, it's cold. I don't.
And I live in Florida. Nothing's beautiful in Florida in the winter when it's cold. I'm just telling you that. I've lived here most of my life.
I'm from Michigan, but I've lived here most of my life. And cold, we have a high today of, you know, I think today it's going. Alexa, what's the temperature today? It's 56 degrees in Florida and we're going to have a little 50 tonight.
That's not, not, um, gratitude for the cozy moments indoors with warm drinks and winter celebrations. I don't drink warm drinks. Uh, I went to a New Year's Eve party that I couldn't wait to get out of. Uh, reflecting on the stillness and gratitude or quiet mood, the quietude was quietude of the season.
Yeah, I've done a lot of that. I've done a lot of that. I have spent a lot of time out in my living room listening to music and, and believe it or not, you know what I listened to this time of year? I listened to very religious Christmas music.
I don't listen to jingle bells and all that stuff or have yourself a merry. I, I, I listened to religious Christmas music this time of year. And this is January 2nd. And this morning I got up and I listened to Joy to the World by Celtic Woman.
Oh my gosh. It just invigorated me. There is so much joy in music. And in the wintertime, you don't feel like going outside.
You can listen to music and it's wonderful. And you can be grateful for that. And it fills your heart. It truly, it truly does.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm a big one for music. Always have been. When you are down, there is music.
And I don't care what kind of music you like. I want you to enjoy it. I certainly do. I have a wide variety of music I like.
Oh well, tomorrow is January 3rd. And new adventures because the kids should be moving in tomorrow. Means I got to get up early to do the podcast. Alright, just a little bit more work to do in that room.
Then I have book work to do. Have a great day everybody. This, well this, is that daily grateful thing.
