In AD 135, the Emperor Hadrian visits the city of Jerusalem and reestablishes as the base for the tenth fretensis it after its destruction in AD 70. The Jews under their Prince, Shimeon bar Kosiba revolt. Anybody who didn’t help in their revolt, were killed. In fact, many Christians were killed in the revolt. After putting down the revolt, the Romans named the Jewish territory after the enemies of the Jews, the Philistines.
