Second Sunday of Easter: Jesus

from Catholic Church · host Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales

We have experienced Holy Week and the joy of Easter Week and now it's the Second Sunday of Easter. Our 'Lent and Easter at the Movies' podcasts continue with Fr Peter Malone MSC relating a series of thought-provoking movies to the day's Gospel reading. We return to Jeremy Sisto as Jesus in the TV film bearing the name from 1999. Second Sunday of Easter - Jesus (1999) TV "Jesus appears and he is most genial - a wonderful presence as he has been throughout the film. He only has to say 'Thomas' then the impetuous Thomas falls to his knees saying 'My Lord and my God'. He doesn't even want to touch the wounds or put his hand into Jesus' side. It's that feeling of being overwhelmed by the Easter news. That he is the Risen Lord."
