Second Week of Advent – Morning Prayer and Worship

As always, our Scripture readings and general order come from the Book of Common Prayer (1979) Daily Office. In the Church calendar, it is the second week of Advent. We'll begin with a sung version of the opening sentences. After a prayer of confession, we'll read Psalm 85:1-2;8-13 followed by the Gloria Patri. Our Lesson is Isaiah 40:1-11. After the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and the Collect of the Day, we'll sing, "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Christina Rossetti and Gustov Holst. Then we'll enter a time of guided prayer.
