1. Secret Service Bust of a Swatting Network The Secret Service announced it uncovered a massive telecommunications network in the New York tri-state area. The operation involved over 100,000 SIM cards and 300 servers allegedly controlled by foreign threat actors and criminals. Purpose: To conduct swatting attacks (false emergency calls) targeting prominent conservatives such as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Sen. Rick Scott, and Nikki Haley. Risks: Could overwhelm cell towers and disrupt communications across New York City. Potentially linked to attempts to disrupt the UN General Assembly by crippling local telecom infrastructure. The Secret Service emphasized the professional sophistication of the network and said investigations are ongoing with no arrests yet. 2. Dallas ICE Facility Shooting A 29-year-old gunman attacked an ICE facility in Dallas at ~6:40 a.m., killing one detainee, injuring two others, and then taking his own life. No ICE agents were killed. Evidence shows the shooter: Researched ballistics and violent political content (including the “Charlie Kirk shooting video”). Used apps that track ICE agents’ movements, which officials say act as a “hit list” for attackers. Left notes describing a plan to maximize harm to ICE personnel while sparing detainees. He described ICE agents as “collecting a dirty paycheck” and sought to terrorize them — which investigators classify as terrorism. Officials (including ICE leaders) blame anti-ICE rhetoric from media and political figures for fueling hostility and violence against federal agents.
