Putting together visuals with slide projectors and any other kind of media he could get his hands on, Don created an environment to expose people to the music he had come to love. In the years to come, Don experimented with production techniques on a collection of drum machines synths and computer hardware. In spring of 1993 Don had performed his first live production; an Ambient Live P.A. consisting of a PC running multi-track audio software, a tape deck of programmed loops & analog synths. After years of toning his style, collecting hardware, the stage was set for his 1997 debut live production under the name 84 Glyde. 84 Glyde clawed its way to the top of the Midwest Rave scene playing headlining slots for thousands of party goers, club patrons and festival attendees. During the months following Don wrote and recorded what would become his first tech- house vinyl release “G Force training kit”, as pseudonym SUB-STANCE, on St. Louis based Anode records. Shortly after the completion of G- Force, Don was introduced to two classically trained jazz players, whom at the time were members of a well known swing band known as Vargas. The three were joined shortly after by producer & guitarist XJN also from the St. Louis area. From the combination was born the jazzy house project known as Urban Jazz Naturals. The Band stayed busy doing a steady stream live performances & playing national gigs. Over a five year period time totaled over 250 shows 3 eps and a CD maxi single that showcased the acts ability to bridge styles ranging from jazzy house, drum&bass to down-tempo. In the year 2000 Don was voted Best House/Techno DJ in St. Louis by St. Louis’s leading weekly entertainment magazine. Being a stalwart at the Winter Music Conference since 1998, event promoter & disc jockey, Don has been invited to play America’s premier clubs from east to west coast and in the process, become known for playing & producing many different styles of music ranging from down-tempo to German techno without missing a beat. Under the monikers of Monad, East St. Louis Players, or his real name, Don navigates a musical experience that transcends the inner and outer spaces into a seamless sequence unified by sound, emotion, and spatial imagery that guides the psyche on an unprecedented adventure through time and space.
