Securing Africa’s Water, Future Challenges and Solutions

Various countries across the African continent share 63 transboundary rivers and lake basins, a situation that often generates tension between political interests and technical realities. Ensuring a sustainable future for Africa’s water resources therefore requires coordinated strategies that reconcile these competing dimensions.In this podcast episode, two experts on water resources offered valuable insights on the continent’s water sustainability challenges. Dr. Anthony Richard Turton, a scientist and specialist in water as a national security risk, served as a fellow in the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. Richard Data, on the other hand, is a Ugandan water and sanitation specialist and a Doctor of Engineering student at EIT.
