Security First Architecture

from Risk Roundup

Anantha Bangalore, a Chief Technology Officer participates in Risk Roundup to discuss Security First Architecture. Security First Architecture As digital technology fundamentally transforms the innovation cycle, it seems that there’s a disconnect between the demand for innovation in digital technology and the ability to execute the development successfully with respect to security. The growing demand for digitization has increased a need for the newest and best software package by not only consumers but each and every entity across nations: its government, industries, organizations, and academia. This growing demand is driving software developers to take shortcuts, use outdated code, or not fully test their codes or new products in order to get it to the market or end-user quickly. This raises the risk of software that is not sufficiently vetted against security vulnerabilities or system compatibility. In addition, there are older versions of many software that are in use across nations, with its outdated operating systems, which have either already become unsupported by their respective vendors or at some point in the near future would become unsupported. This raises critical security risks as such Security Vulnerabilities will likely go unpatched, and they will often be the first vulnerable spot cyber-criminals will focus on when trying to obtain access to the systems across entities. Time is now to talk about Security First Architecture.
