Seeing God in the Broken Places

from Living Your Holiest Hot Mess Life · host Emily Harrison

Psalm 91:5-8 blesses us with the promise that if we are not seeing God in the broken places of our lives in the moment, that we will be able to look back and see God on the other side. And it doesn't have to be "the other side" meaning heaven, a lot of times God allows us to look back and see what He was doing in retrospect that we couldn't see in the moment. God's "no" to our prayers feels like a bad thing, but a lot of times we're able to see later that it was really a blessing and that He was blocking things that we thought we wanted and needed that weren't going to be good for us. So as we continue to live our holiest hot mess lives, it's really important that we continue to walk by faith, trusting and believing that God is with us in the broken places and if we can't see Him, one thing we can do that can help us to start seeing Him is to start praising Him and to start listing things we're grateful for - because we wouldn't have any of those things we're grateful for without him.
