Seek First: The Answer to Anxiety

Guys, I still don’t know exactly where that line is between God-honoring worry and God-dishonoring anxiety. But I do know this … Life is going to throw a lot of stuff at you. But we’re Jesus followers. And we know there is a God … a big G God. And we that he flat-out cares … kind of like the perfect Dad. The cross proves that. And we know that no matter what happens he’ll be there. That’s his promise. And with his help, we’ll get through whatever comes … as long as we seek first his Kingdom, and his righteousness. Here’s how the apostle Paul puts it: “For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.” (2 Corinthians 4.16-18) One guy put it like this, “There’s nothing a good resurrection can’t fix.” (Don Carson) And it’s coming.
